Dead By Daylight is a hugely popular online multiplayer game, in which players can take on either the role of a survivor or a killer. The game caters to horror fans with both original characters and licensed properties from iconic movies and television series.

Survivors can't fight or attack, but they each have their own set perks and changeable outfits. There's definitely more of a focus on the variety of killers at present, but Dead By Daylight currently boasts Ash Williams and a multitude of Resident Evil characters among its protagonists, with none other than Nicholas Cage heading to the game soon. Here are some other survivors who would make for a fun gaming experience.

10 Laurie Strode (Halloween)

Laurie Strode is the ultimate final girl. She'd make an excellent addition to Dead By Daylight, particularly if she's up against Michael Myers in the Haddonfield map. Her perks could include the ability to hit the killer with a knitting needle if captured, allowing the player a chance to escape.

There could be various 'looks' for the character that gamers could unlock – including the older Laurie of the latest Halloween trilogy, as well as different outfits, such as her patient outfit from the original Halloween 2.

9 Sam Loomis (Halloween)

The other iconic protagonist from the Halloween series, Loomis would make for a great survivor in the world of Dead By Daylight. He is instantly recognizable with his long jacket and haunted face, and would look right at home creeping through the shadows of the game's twisted locations.

For players who like to mix things up a bit looks wise, DLC options could include Loomis's scarred face from Halloween 4 onwards, and could have perks that involve laying traps for the killer to slow them down.

8 Ellen Ripley (Alien)

There have been rumors for a while of the dreaded Xenomorph heading to Dead By Daylight, so a Ripley as a playable survivor would compliment this perfectly. Having the Nostromo as a playable map, with a few eerie Facehuggers crawling around the place would cement this union.

Tough and resilient, Ripley's natural perks could easily include being able to swiftly fix generators with ease, and perhaps even the ability to take more than just two hits before going down.

7 Cassie Hack (Hack/Slash)

A character from the horror comic seriesHack/Slash, Cassie Hack has made it her life's mission to go after all manner of murderous nasties who prey upon unsuspecting teenagers. She might be one of the more obscure characters on this list, but she'd add a great deal of color to the game.

Definitely one of the toughest survivors, Cassie would mean trouble for many of the killers of Dead By Daylight. Fast on her feet, not afraid to fight back and great at hiding, she'd have a host of perks at her disposal, as well as all manner of fun outfits.

6 Sidney Prescott (Scream)

Ghostface is one of the most devious of Dead By Daylight's killers, with a host of perks giving him the upper hand. Sidney Prescott would be a perfect foil for the masked maniac, allowing players to re-enact their very own Scream fantasies.

Sidney's perks could easily include a faster 'wiggle-free' system when captured, as well as the ability to run faster and be able to avoid detection. She's remarkably resilient in the movies, and this would translate well to the game.

5 Tommy Jarvis (Friday The 13th)

Jason is yet to appear in Dead By Daylight, perhaps due to him having his own multiplayer murder game. That doesn't mean his enemies can't appear though, and Tommy Jarvis, his most prolific foe, would be perfect for the game.

Tommy was played by three different actors in the movies he appeared in, which might mean players could choose which version of Tommy they could play as. It would be fun, if a little dark, to have a young Corey Feldman hiding from the many psychopaths of the Dead By Daylight world.

4 Blade (Blade)

As frustrating as it would be to play as such a kickass character without actually being able to kick ass, Blade would be a cool addition to the game. Light on his feet, stealthy and seriously cool to look at, he's a character gamers would definitely want on their team.

Stealth perks would be a given, but maybe Blade's strength and resilience would also allow him to escape the hook with ease, without relying on somebody else’s help. Much like some killers have an 'undetectable' perk, Blade could also have the same.

3 Wendy Torrance (The Shining)

She might initially come across as quite weak and feeble, but Wendy Torrance was remarkably resilient in The Shining, protecting her son from a father-gone-mad. She'd be a great addition to the labyrinthine maps of Dead By Daylight, and her stubbornness to survive would surely enrage more than one killer.

Wiggly when captured, light on her feet and able to dodge attacks – these are just some perks that would accompany Wendy's character nicely. She might even be able to defend herself with a baseball bat if cornered.

2 Martin Brody (Jaws)

It's highly unlikely players will ever get a killer shark in Dead By Daylight, due to some obvious logistics. But that doesn't mean that a character as iconic as Brody can't have his moment, applying his skills of survival against hillbillies and ghost nurses instead.

Brody's major perk could be the ability to sense danger. Perhaps he'd be able to see the killer's heat pattern all the time, giving him the chance forewarn the other players and stay one step ahead.

1 R.J. Macready (The Thing)

Collage Maker-21-May-2023-01-30-PM-6995

No stranger to terrifying situations, Macready would a cool survivor to play as in Dead By Daylight. Tough and intelligent, he'd be great at spotting traps and fixing generators, as well as being able to identify where the killer might be hiding.

Other perks could include the ability to locate item boxes, and, should he be the last man standing, the whereabouts of the escape hatch. If only he'd had one of those at the end of The Thing.
