Capable of throwing hatchets from great distances, Dead by Daylight’s Huntress is a master of controlling the map and zoning Survivors into her lethal line of sight. Slightly slower than the average Killer, she must make up her movement speed with carefully aimed hatchets that can take out even the most experienced Survivors.

This Dead by Daylight guide will highlight two of the best builds that players can use with The Huntress to complement her abilities. These builds will include both teachable and non-teachable perks for Killers with a variety of hours in-game.

Dead by Daylight: Best Builds for The Huntress

Patch 7.6 for Dead by Daylight changed The Huntress quite significantly, reducing her Hatchet windup time and increasing her maximum number of held Hatchets. To compensate, some add-ons had their effects changed. This updated guide reflects those changes by updating her add-on descriptions.

The Huntress: Best Non-Teachable Build (2024)

Without access to many slowdowns, the power of this build comes with cutting off Survivor resources as the game progresses. With Bitter Murmur, The Huntress can see Survivors’ auras after a generator is finished. Meanwhile, Hex: Huntress Lullaby builds in strength, punishing Survivors who don't pay close attention to Skill Checks. By slowing down the game with Hex: Thrill of the Hunt, players can build pressure until Hex: No One Escapes Death triggers in the Endgame Collapse.

  • Hex: Huntress Lullaby (The Huntress) – For as long as the Hex Totem stands, Survivors who miss a Skill Check receive a 6% regression penalty. Each time a Survivor is hooked, gain up to five tokens. Each token reduces the time between the Skill Check warning sound and the Skill Check. At five tokens, Survivors receive no warning sound.
  • Bitter Murmur (General Perk) – Each time a generator is completed, the auras of Survivors within 16 meters of that generator are revealed for 5 seconds. Once the last generator is complete, all Survivors’ auras are revealed for 10 seconds.
  • Hex: No One Escapes Death (General Perk) – After the final generator is completed, all survivors suffer from the Exposed status ailment, and users gain a 4% Haste effect until the Hex Totem is cleansed.
  • Hex: Thrill of the Hunt (General Perk) – For each Dull and Hex Totem remaining on the map, Survivors' cleansing and blessing speed is reduced by 10%.

The Huntress: Best Build (2024)

As a slower-moving Killer, The Huntress may require a number of perks that slow generator progress and keep track of Survivor movements. Perks like Corrupt Intervention will stall the early game and create pressure on Survivors to stay close to one another, while The Deathslinger's Dead Man's Switch and Grim Embrace will further slow generator progress.

  • Corrupt Intervention (The Plague) – At the start of the trial, the three generators furthest from the killer's starting location are blocked for 120 seconds or until the first survivor is downed.
  • Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance (The Artist) – The Killer starts with four tokens. For each different Survivor hooked on a white Scourge Hook, the Killer will lose one token and explode the generator with the most progress, causing it to lose 25% of progress.
  • Grim Embrace (The Artist) – Each time The Killer hooks a new Survivor, all generators are blocked for 12 seconds after moving 16 meters away from the hook. After hooking each Survivor once, all generators are blocked for 40 seconds and the Obsession's aura is revealed for six seconds.
  • Dead Man’s Switch (The Deathslinger) – After hooking a Survivor, Dead Man’s Switch activates for 30 seconds. Any Survivor who leaves a generator before it is repaired will have it blocked for the duration of the perk.

Like the Bandaged Haft, this add-on doubles that effect, decreasing Hatchet throw cooldown by 20%.

Manna Grass Braid

A good choice for Dead by Daylight beginners, this Uncommon Hunting Hatchets Add-On decreases the required time to pull up a Hatchet by 5%. While it may seem insignificant, this reduced wind-up time allows for a more generous window to hit Survivors with Hatchets at tight loops, or before they can turn a corner and break line of sight.

Leather Loop

The Leather Loop Huntress Add-On grants a 2% Haste buff for 5 seconds after successfully hitting a Survivor with a Hatchet.

Venomous Concoction

Moving onto the Rare Add-Ons, the Venomous Concoction Exhausts Survivors for 5 seconds after they are hit with a Hatchet. This prevents Survivors from using impactful Exhaustion perks mid-chase unless they walk off the effect, giving you more time to close the gap.

Flower Babushka

An upgrade to the Manna Grass Braid, this Huntress Add-On decreases the required Hatchet wind-up time by 10%.

Deerskin Gloves

While they may not be as powerful as other Add-Ons, the Deerskin gloves can still influence the outcome of events by speeding up Hatchet reload times by 20%. This pairs nicely with The Legion’s Iron Maiden perk.

Infantry Belt

A better version of the Leather Loop, with this Add-On, The Huntress's speed is increased by 3% upon a successful Hatchet hit.

Glowing Concoction

Helpful for tracking and anticipating Survivor movement at loops, the Glowing Concoction reveals the aura of Survivorshit by Hatchets for 5 seconds.

Begrimed Head

For those who want to slow down healing speeds, the Bedrimed Head inflicts those hit with Hatchets with the Mangled and Hemorrhage status ailments for 80 seconds.

Iridescent Head

dead by daylight the huntress iridescent head addon

The Huntress’ strongest yet most skill-dependent Add-On, the Iridescent Head immediately downs Survivors hit with Hatchets at the cost of limiting the maximum number of Hatchets carried to one.
