Dead by Daylight's 7th Anniversary Chapter, End Transmission, expands the game into a sci-fi horror setting with its new characters. Gabriel Soma is the chapter's Survivor. Gabriel comes from the far future - his team have crash-landed on an alien planet, and he is the sole survivor of an attack from an AI robot gone rogue.

With three incredibly strong Unique Perks, Gabriel Soma is currently one of the best Survivors in Dead By Daylight. As a result, he has been the center of some controversy within the Dead By Daylight community, and has certainly ruffled some feathers. However, players who want to learn how to best utilize him and his perks can find some tips here.

3 How To Use Troubleshooter

Dead by Daylight Troubleshooter Perk

Troubleshooter, one of Gabriel's perks, can be quite useful for newer Survivors. Upon dropping a pallet, the Survivor will be able to see the Killer's aura for the next 6 seconds. By gaining some additional visibility on the Killer can allow the Survivor to plan out their next actions much more effectively. If the Killer is preparing to try mind-game the Survivor or break the pallet, they can just keep running. If the Killer is winding up their next attack, the Survivor will be able to see where to dodge.

Additionally, Troubleshooter is an excellent perk for solo Survivors. When entering a chase, Troubleshooter will allow the Survivor to temporarily see the aura of the Generator with the most progress. This means the Survivor can keep their teammates safe and buy them some time by avoiding bringing the Killer to them.

Best Perks To Combine With Troubleshooter

Some of the best Dead By Daylight perks to combine with Troubleshooter include Windows of Opportunity, Off the Record, and Deliverance. Windows of Opportunity allows the Survivor to see the aura of any nearby pallets or windows, ensuring they will always have a pallet to head to. Deliverance can buy the Survivor's teammates even more time, as it allows the player to safely unhook themselves.

Finally, Off the Record will protect the Survivor and give them the Endurance status effect for a little while after unhooking themselves, potentially giving them even more time to distract the Killer.

2 How To Use Scavenger

Dead by Daylight Scavenger Perk

Since its introduction in the End Transmission PTB (Public Test Build), Scavenger has sparked considerable controversy within the Dead By Daylight community. Players can use the perk by having a toolbox equipped. Once they have used all the toolbox's charges, they then need to hit 4 Great Skill Checks. After the player has accomplished this, their toolbox charges will be restored.

The best way to get value out of this perk is to bring some of the more powerful toolboxes in Dead By Daylight, preferably ones with less charges. This way, the player can burn through their initial charges, and recharge it as soon as possible. Players can seriously shave off some seconds on a Generator by using Scavenger.

Dead By Daylight players who need some help hitting Great Skill Checks to maximize Scavenger's potential should try running perks such as This Is Not Happening and Stake Out. These perks can make it much easier to hit those smaller Skill Checks, This Is Not Happening increases the area for hitting Great Skill Checks, whereas Stake Out will hit them automatically for the player.

However, more experienced players may find it easier to hit Great Skill Checks without much help. In this case, perks such as Hyperfocus, Fogwise, and Fast Track all reward the player for hitting Great Skill Checks, and synergize nicely with Scavenger.

1 How To Use Made For This

Dead by Daylight Made For This Perk

Made For This is arguably Gabriel Soma's best perk. Made For This gives the player a 3% Haste status effect whenever they're in the Injured state. Whilst it may not sound like a huge difference, this perk can decimate some of the slower Killers, and allow the Survivor to create some pretty impressive distance between themselves and the Killer.

This perk is particularly helpful for newer players, as it requires very little effort to activate. Naturally, Survivors will become injured at some point during most Dead By Daylight matches. This means that they essentially get a permanent speed boost for free, as long as they remain injured.

Made For This can also be used as an altruism perk. It also grants the Endurance status effect for 10 seconds after the player has healed another Survivor. Endurance protects the player from losing a health state, and instead applies Deep Wound. This means they can tank a hit for nearby Survivors, potentially allowing them to escape.

To gain the most value out of Made For This, Dead By Daylight players are going to want to stay injured as long as they possibly can. Resilience is a great perk that rewards Survivors for staying injured. It provides a boost to certain Action skills, making it a lot more beneficial and comfy for the player to avoid healing.

For players wanting to make the most out of their speed boost, they can also try running Hope alongside it. Hope provides the player with a 7% Haste effect once the Exit Gates are powered. Combined with Made For This, the player will have a massive 10% speed boost in the endgame, making this combination one of the best ways to increase a Survivor's speed in Dead by Daylight.

Empathy is an excellent choice for players who are looking for a way to gain some value from the Endurance effect that Made For This provides. Empathy allows the player to see the auras of other injured Survivors. This makes it easy to track them down and give them a quick heal. We'll Make It is a great way for the player to increase their healing speed, whilst helping to heal injured Survivors after being unhooked.
