The latest horror icon making its way to Dead by Daylight will be the terrifying Xenomorph from the Alien franchise. Since its release in 2016, Dead by Daylight has amassed a huge lineup of killers from all forms of media including Freddy Krueger from the Nightmare on Elm Street movies and Nemesis from Resident Evil 3.

The asymmetrical multiplayer game pits a group of four survivors against one serial killer as they attempt to make it through the night without being seen. Most recently film star Nicolas Cage was added to the Dead by Daylight roster which included some silly perks for players to explore. With Cage being added as the newest survivor, Behaviour Interactive has turned its attention back to the killers.

In a video posted the official Dead by Daylight YouTube channel, players are teased with the slow-building Alien logo before getting the first look at the iconic Xenomorph from Ridley Scott’s established franchise. The short clip comes in at less than a minute but during that time gamers are introduced to various scenes from the movies including a brief look at the hexagonal table from the Nostromo. Even Ripley’s cat Jonesy can be seen wandering the halls of the dilapidated spaceship. The video ends with a tease stating more information about the latest addition to the Dead By Daylight roster will be available on August 8.

Fans will no doubt be excited to get their hands on the Xenomorph when it is added to Dead by Daylight, and it shows that despite releasing in 2016, Behaviour Interactive is continuing to support the hugely popular title. The team doesn’t appear to be slowing down either as a Dead by Daylight survey was sent to fans last month that had the aim of gauging interest for potential future crossovers.

While the Xenomorph is certainly one of the most recognizable horror characters of the last few decades, their representation in video games has often been a mixed bag. For every critically acclaimed game such as Alien: Isolation, there are seemingly disastrous efforts such as Alien: Colonial Marines. The latest game, Alien: Dark Decent did fair somewhat better with critics when it was released in June 2023.

Gamers won’t have long to wait to find out more information on the Alien update. Behaviour Interactive will showcase the latest killer for Dead by Daylight on August 8. While it is not expected that the creature will be unleashed into the game on the same day, it will still be a good opportunity for players to see the new ways they can stalk the survivors.

Dead By Daylight is available on Mobile, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
