Body swap stories can range from funny to unsettling. Here are the best DC tales that focus on the concept.

Using the Yellow Light of Fear, the Sinestro Corps step up to be the villains the DC Comics hero needs to fight. While the Yellow Lanterns usually aren't as strong as the Green Lantern Corps members, they've still had some powerful members join the team. The Yellow Lanterns have included some surprising members in their ranks.

1 Amon Sur

Hateful Spirit Embodies Sinestro's Mission

Amon Sur

The son of Abin Sur, Amon Sur held a grudge against the Green Lantern he believed stole his birthright. Amon thought he would inherit his father's ring, but the ring instead chose to go to Hal Jordan. Amon Sur became bitter and angry. He decided to join the Sinestro Corps instead.

Amon Sur was actually on the front lines during the Sinestro Corps War storyline. He was able to complete his training quickly and, while he certainly had his faults as a Yellow Lantern, he truly believed in the Yellow Lanterns' mission.

2 Ranx

Sentient City

Ranx the Sentient City

Set as a counterpart to Mogo the Living Planet in the Green Lantern Corps, Ranx the Sentient City is the same size as a planet. Ranx served as a base of operation for the Yellow Lanterns during times of War but also served as a fine warrior for the Sinestro Corps.

Despite death being a frequent occurrence for DC heroes and villains, these characters have managed to avoid such a dark fate for decades.

Ranx was able to battle Mogo and Guy Gardner at the same time. The city was also fused with the Warworld, turning it into a giant weapon of mass destruction.

3 Karu-Sil

Raised By Pack Of Alien Beasts

Karu-Sil

One of the most frightening Yellow Lanterns, Karu-Sil hails from a planet filled with lush wildlife. However, her entire family is killed, and she is raised by a pack of alien beasts. She suffers another immeasurable loss when a Green Lantern thinks she needs to be rescued and kills the pack.

This turns Karu-Sil against the Green Lanterns. She eventually earns her Yellow Lantern Power Ring and uses light replicas of her pack to fight her enemies. Karu-Sil uses fearsome constructs and is openly savage due to being raised by beasts, making her truly terrifying for any opponent.

4 Cyborg Superman

Strong Enough To Defeat Superman

Cyborg Superman

Hank Henshaw may not have believed in the mission of the Sinestro Corps, but he willingly accepted ten Yellow Lantern rings from Sinestro. Cyborg Superman, who was best known as a Superman villain, led a team of automatons called the Manhunters and assisted Sinestro's assault on Earth.

As a thank you, Sinestro gave ten power rings to Cyborg Superman, who was then strong enough with his own power and the power of the rings to defeat the Man of Steel. Cyborg Superman proved to be one of the biggest threats to the universe when he wielded the Yellow Light.

5 Despotellis

Sentient Virus

Despotellis

While Despotellis may be the smallest member of the Yellow Lantern Corps, the virus still packs a deadly punch. Due to being invisible to the naked eye, the sentient virus is one of the most lethal bioweapons in the DC Comics universe.

Despotellis kills its victims within hours of infection. This Yellow Lantern was so effective that it managed to push Guy Gardner to the brink of death until its Green Lantern counterpart, Leezle Pon, the sentient smallpox virus, stepped in to save Gardner.

6 Soranik Natu

Sinestro's Prodigy

Soranik Natu

Much like her mentor, Sinestro, Soranik Natu started as a Green Lantern before joining the Sinestro Corps. Sinestro's legacy became too much for Soranik, who left the Green Lanterns to join the Yellow Lanterns. Despite the color change, she was still one of the most adept at wielding her ring's powers.

Soranik quickly rose through the Yellow Lantern ranks and even took over as the second Corps leader after Sinestro. She tried to resist becoming the leader but proved to be very adept at being the top Yellow Lantern.

7 Mongul

Nearly Usurped Sinestro

Mongul

The Yellow Lanterns never chose Mongul to be a member, but he still managed to lead his own crew of Yellow Lanterns. Mongul tried to usurp Sinestro and take over the Yellow Lanterns, reforming them into the Mongul Corps. He managed to sway many of Sinestro's officers to join him.

During his leadership, Mongul tortured any Lanterns believed to be insubordinate. Mongul almost completed his mission until Sinestro beat him in a fight and trapped Mongul in the Central Yellow Power Battery.

8 Sinestro

Founded Yellow Lanterns

Sinestro and his power rings in the Sinestro Corps War

Originally a Green Lantern, Sinestro used the power of fear to his advantage. These actions got him kicked out of the Green Lantern Corps. From there, he founded the Sinestro Corps of Yellow Lanterns and turned them into a team strong enough to stand up to the Green Lanterns.

Sinestro grew more powerful through his belief and use of fear. He would experiment with other Lantern colors, but Sinestro was always at his most powerful when wielding the Yellow Light of Fear.

9 Anti-Monitor

Godlike Powers

Anti-Monitor

Anti-Monitor was one of the most feared villains in the DC Comics universe before joining the Yellow Lanterns. However, the Sinestro Corps recruited the godlike villain to serve as their Guardian while the Corps invades Earth. Anti-Monitor managed to drain all the positive matter from Earth.

Anti-Monitor's one weakness as a Lantern was the use of the ring. He wasn't as adept at using it as other Lanterns. Still, the added power of the Yellow ring made him one of DC's most formidable foes.

10 Superboy-Prime

Combines Superman's Powers With The Yellow Lantern Ring

Superboy Prime

Someone with the powers of Superman and the Yellow Lantern ring would easily rank as the most powerful member of the Sinestro Corps. The angry variant of the Man of Steel, Superboy-Prime, joined the Yellow Lanterns after being de-powered and weakened. However, he regained his full strength while still wielding the Yellow Ring of Fear.

Superboy-Prime was able to take on hundreds of heroes by himself with these combined powers. Superboy-Prime was even powerful enough to defeat Anti-Monitor, meaning there's almost no one more powerful than him when he has his Yellow ring.
