These villains from the 31st Century often challenged the Legion of Superheroes. The two legions often went toe-to-toe with each other in many iterations of DC Comics.

7 Universo

Universo

A renegade and strong Green Lantern, Universo was one of the most cunning villains in the 31st century. His brush with the Guardians ignited a lust for power. His actions were so diabolical that Earth actually outlawed the Green Lantern Corps at one point.

Universo was also a powerful hypnotist. He was able to conquer Earth and outlaw the Legion of Super Heroes not once, but twice. Unfortunately for him, he underestimated the Legion's willpower, like most stubborn villains.

6 Mordru

Mordru

Mordru is a perfect example of a corrupt sorcerer. He is almost all-powerful and hellbent on conquering everything he can. His only weakness is being buried, making him extremely difficult to defeat. However, the Legion manages to always find a way.

His first battle with the Legion has never been seen. However, he was able to break out of the buried vault the Legion buried him in. The heroes, such as Mon-El and Superboy, were scared of Mordru, showing other Legionnaires just how frightening Mordru is.

5 Saturn Queen

Saturn Queen

Growing up on the moon of Titan, Saturn Queen became bored with the crime-free life and started searching for adventure. This led her to form the Legion of Super Villains with Lightning Lord and Cosmic King. The trio was looking for a way to combat the powerful Legion of Super Heroes.

Saturn Queen became one of the toughest villains to battle, especially during the Five Years Later storyline. Saturn Queen weakened the future Green Lantern allowing Superboy Prime to kill the hero.

4 Lightning Lord

Lightning Lord

Lightning Lord is not just one of the founders of the Legion of Super Villains, he's also the older brother of two founders of the Legion of Super Heroes. Born on a planet where twins are the norm, Lightning Lord quickly became ostracized by his family for not having a twin, and he grew to hate his younger siblings for this reason.

Despite this, he often tried to sway his siblings to the side of evil whenever the two legions squared off in battle, as all three have the same lightning powers. Lightning Lord is one of the most common thorns on the side of the Legion of Super Heroes.

3 Superboy Prime

Superboy Prime

Superboy Prime is one of the few villains to wreak havoc across the majority of the DC Multiverse. He started as the Superman of Prime Earth but, after spending years in a Paradise pocket dimension watching villains rise, he became disillusioned with being a hero.

After fighting many heroes throughout the years, the Time Trapper sent this terrifying version of Superman, Superboy Prime to the future where his history had been rewritten. He became enraged and worked to create a large force of villains in the future who almost always ran into the Legion.

2 Cosmic King

Cosmic King

Cosmic King is one of the founding members of the Legion of Super Villains. The native of the planet Venus is also one of the most persistent and powerful villains. An experiment gave Cosmic King limitless power to transmute inanimate objects. His actions got him banned from his home planet.
