Fans of the incredibly successful Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot have a lot to look forward to the rest of this year, as the first new story arc has been all but confirmed to adapt the Gods of the Universe Saga, based on the Dragon Ball Z movies Battle of Gods and Resurrection F. That said, the enigmatic season pass also is said to contain two original story episodes, and there has been little to no information regarding what these original story episodes might be. That said, there are some hints within the game itself that lend to some possibilities of what these story episodes will cover.

For those unaware, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot's season pass remained a mystery since even before the game's release. Many fans owned the season pass but had no idea what it would actually encompass. Thanks to a leaked image featuring the tree from Beerus' home world in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot from credible Dragon Ball reporter, Dragon Ball Hype, it now seems almost certain that the Gods of the Universe Saga will be adapted. Unfortunately, half of the season pass still remains a mystery, as the two original story episodes are completely unknown even still.

Given that they are original story episodes, they could theoretically be anything. It is possible that CyberConnect2 will simply create all new characters and do something that no one could anticipate, but it is more likely that it will work with the existing original content already in the game. Bonyu, a former member of the Ginyu force, seems like an incredibly likely candidate, but the existence of non-canon characters like Mira, Towa, and Android 21 certainly also could make for interesting stories. Any of these are possible candidates to fill out DBZ: K's season pass.

Bonyu in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot

Bonyu in Dragon Ball Z Kakarot

Fans were incredibly excited to hear about Bonyu when information first became available on her, but many were admittedly disappointed with the way she was handled in the game. A strong and intelligent female character like Bonyu would really do well to balance out Dragon Ball Z's male-centric cast, but she was relegated to the training room missions and used mostly as a punching bag for players to reach level 250. There is some compelling information about the character that is largely unexplored in the base game which could serve as a basis for original story content, though.

Bonyu was a former member of the Ginyu Force, and was actually the first one Ginyu recruited. After a while of being with the force, however, Bonyu decided to leave because she found their habit of making strange poses unbearable. She is certainly the smartest of the group and quite possibly the most powerful, if her strength in the training room simulation at level 100 is anything to base that off of. It is said that she still serves in the Frieza Force in some capacity, so a original story episode providing her more depth as a character would be more than welcome.

Mira and Towa in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot

Dragon Ball Z Kakarot Mira

Spoiler alert, Mira appears as Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot's secret boss, ever faithful at the side of his creator, Mira. The two are responsible for the surfacing of the incredibly dangerous villainous enemies which can be found throughout the world. After defeating all the villainous enemies, players must go up against a villainous Mira that Towa believes has reached his full power. Upon his defeat, her tone quickly changes and the duo leave to go to another timeline in order to gather more energy.

It is possible that Mira and Towa's inclusion was just a nod to the Dragon Ball Xenoverse franchise in which the two are major villains, but it also seems plausible that one or both of the original story episodes could focus on them. By insinuating that they'll go to a new timeline, it is possible they could return again either to further their demonic goals or gain more energy from perhaps Future Trunks' timeline. The possibilities here really are endless, as there are likely infinite timelines and directions which CyberConnect2 could explore with these villains.

One interesting theory revolves around Mira's close relation with the universe of Dragon Ball: GT. In the final mission of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Mira absorbs both his master and one of Toki-Toki's eggs. It is later revealed that this egg contained the entire timeline of Dragon Ball: GT, a fact that is hinted at by Mira's Super Saiyan 4 like appearance. Perhaps the other timeline which Mira and Towa traveled to is Dragon Ball: GT, and a story episode about that would be a great way to introduce a Dragon Ball GT: Kakarot expansion or standalone game.

Android 21 in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot

Android 21's inclusion in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is also quite odd. She is referred to simply as "Female Researcher," and serves no purpose other than to run the training room. As it stands, she could have been replaced by any random researcher, even DBZ: Kakarot's own professor Oak, but instead it is her. It seems highly likely that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot plans to explore her story more in a better way than Dragon Ball FighterZ did, especially given how she can be found in various places throughout the game such as Gero's destroyed laboratory making cryptic comments about research.

Again, all of this is merely speculation, and by nature of them being original story episodes, CyberConnect2 could really go in any direction it wants to with these pieces of DLC. Still, though, there are a lot of unexplored story elements at the end of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, and the seeds have been planted for new original stories already. It seems most likely that these will be explored in some capacity, but only time will tell. Whether Bonyu, Mira, or Android 21 take the spotlight after the DLC releases is uncertain, but any of the three would be great additions to the game.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
