The PS4 console exclusive Days Gone has been a hot topic among fans over the past few weeks. Discussions regarding a potential sequel started appearing online more and more, fueled by rumors surrounding Bend Studio and the work it had undertaken. Following the release of Days Gone, reports indicated that Sony approached the studio about working on a new Uncharted game and assisting Naughty Dog on a multiplayer project.

While disputed by former Days Gone director Jeff Ross, Bend Studio was ultimately moved off of the project due to a fear of being absorbed into Naughty Dog, similarly to what happened with Vicarious Visions and Blizzard. The studio attempted to pitch Sony regarding a sequel which included a shared multiplayer based world and plenty of co-op elements. At the time, Sony passed on the idea, though it hasn't stopped the IP from moving forward.

Following the likes of Death Stranding and Horizon: Zero Dawn, Days Gone is now coming to the PC platform in May. A newly released trailer touches on the game's premise, shows off plenty of zombie smashing gameplay, and shows off all of the PC exclusive features. At launch, PC players will get access to 21:9 Ultra-Wide Monitor support for a really cinematic experience. First and third party controllers as well as mouse and keyboard are supported.

For those with a beefier PC rig, the framerate can be unlocked to help really push the visuals forward. In addition, Days Gone features an increased level of detail in the world with customizable graphic settings and options to allow players to tailor the experience to their hardware. In addition, Photo Mode has been enhanced with super resolution which should help players take some truly fantastic looking shots. Finally, while Days Gone won't have PlayStation trophies on PC, it does come with full achievement support, so players will still feel like they're earning something while playing.

Many Days Gone fans are hoping the game's move to PC is just the next step for the IP. While Jeff Ross won't confirm or deny news on an actual sequel, Sony is apparently choosing to embrace the PC platform through its many exclusives like Days Gone. While the company likely won't be integrating it quite in the same way as its rival Microsoft, Sony has confirmed that more exclusives are on the way to the PC platform. While Sony continues to explore this gaming sector, Bloodborne continues to be the main exclusive rumored to be coming to PC, though or now, nothing is official.

Days Gone is out now for PS4 with a PC version launching on May 18, 2021.
