  • Exoprimal, a new addition to Xbox Game Pass, has reached an impressive milestone with over one million players joining the wargames since its release earlier this month.
  • As a way to celebrate this achievement, Capcom is offering a free Skywave skin in the August 16 title update, showing appreciation for the ongoing support from fans.
  • The game has received mixed reviews, with some players expressing issues with gameplay, progression system, and live-service elements. However, being available on Xbox Game Pass allows a large number of users to experience Exoprimal through the subscription service.

Exoprimal was added to the Xbox Game Pass library as a day one release, and Capcom is now offering a free skin to fans to celebrate a player milestone. Xbox Game Pass subscribers get access to new games every month, with Microsoft adding these titles over the course of the month.

Microsoft first-party games are available to Xbox Game Pass members on day one at no extra cost, but some third-party games and indie titles are also added to the collection on the day of their release. Xbox Game Pass has already received some noteworthy third-party games as day one releases in 2023, such as Atomic Heart and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, with Exoprimal being another addition to this list. Now, Exoprimal is offering a free skin as a way to celebrate an important player milestone.

Capcom has confirmed that over 1 million gamers have played Exoprimal since its release earlier this month. As a way to celebrate this milestone, a Skywave skin will be available for free in the August 16 title update. The development team takes this opportunity to state that it's working on making improvements to Exoprimal based on player feedback, before thanking fans for their support.

Exoprimal received mixed reviews upon its launch, as its Xbox Series X version has a score of 71 on Metacritic. The user score is far lower at 4.4, as some players have posted negative reviews to share their issues with Exoprimal. It appears that users have problems with a variety of elements of Exoprimal, as fans have expressed complaints regarding gameplay, progression system, its live-service elements, and more.

As Exoprimal is available on Xbox Game Pass on day one, it's likely that a ton of users from that 1 million are playing the game through the subscription service. It’ll be interesting to see the sales figures of Exoprimal if Capcom ever decides to reveal them, and how this number compares to the total player count. For reference, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty sold over 1 million units earlier in 2023, but its total player count was siting at 3.8 million at that time.

In addition to Exoprimal, Xbox Game Pass members got access to a bunch of other games in July 2023. This list includes Grand Theft Auto 5, Maquette, The Wandering Village, Sword and Fairy: Together Forever, Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem, and more, allowing Xbox Game Pass members to play these titles at no extra cost.

Exoprimal is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
