Dave the Diver is a restaurant simulation that also has players discovering the depths of the ocean. As Dave upgrades his suit and air, he can dive deeper and deeper into the unknown. As this pixel art game progresses, players get all sorts of useful items to help them get around and collect more things under the sea. This includes things like weapons, ungraded cargo limits, better air tanks, bombs, and other items. One of the items players will end up with eventually is the bug net, and they will need this item to collect Clione for Maki.

Getting the Bug Net in Dave the Diver

Late in the indie gameDave the Diver's chapter 3, players will meet a weird little girl named Maki. She is looking for her dad, and she asks Dave to help her out. She wants several Clione. But there is a problem: these tiny fish are too small to harpoon or shot or use the net gun to catch. So she offers up a bug net to help Dave catch these little critters.

The bug net can also be used for a whole slew of other creatures like shrimp that will make for high-priced and high-taste items in this restaurant simulater. But first, players should focus on getting those Clione for Maki.

How to Use the Bug Net In Dave the Diver

Thankfully, players of this fishing game don't need to equip the bug net or have it take up room in their inventory. It's not a melee weapon either, so it won't replace their knife or other needed tools. But this can also make it a little intuitive to use. In order to use the bug net, swim up to a small fish like a shrimp. The spacebar icon will appear over Dave's head when he is close enough to the critter to catch it. While the Clione are pretty tiny, they will have a blue diamond over their heads while Dave still needs them for the quest.

Next, press the spacebar, and Dave will pull out the net and swing it, catching the tiny fish and putting it in his inventory. Players can also use these to catch sea horses for horse racing in the Sea People's village and the other tiny fish they have been seeing the whole game but have been unable to catch for themselves and serve in Bancho's Restaurant.

These fish are also very lightweight, so players can get a bunch of them without filling up their cargo limit; they are also items that can be sold in Dave the Diver.

Dave the Diver is available in early access on PC.
