With the official Dauntless release date having come and gone, new players are now learning how to play with friends in Dauntless, and they are teaming up to slay the myriad of Behemoths that the title has to offer. Unfortunately, the game's launch has not been without its issues, and many fans are reportedly encountering problems with long matchmaking times, queues, and prompts that indicate that the Dauntless servers are full.

Since the Dauntless release date, the game's official Twitter account has been active in addressing these concerns, and it has continually provided updates on the Dauntless servers. Yesterday, these updates included indication that the "servers [were] hurting," a statement that was followed by an outage and then an approximately two hour Dauntless server maintenance.

While many players were certain to be pleased to see the Dauntless servers quickly restored, there was a caveat. Specifically, it was indicated that the Dauntless server queue times, which some fans were already encountering prior to the maintenance, would become longer due to a decrease in the total number of players that can play at a time. The official Twitter account acknowledged that it may be frustrating to encounter Dauntless full servers, but the alternative was to continue to keep them offline.

Furthermore, it is said that the increased Dauntless queues do come with an upside, as it is suggested that it will improve the Dauntless matchmaking issues that some players have been experiencing. Indeed, fans have reported that, when they attempt to start a hunt in Dauntless, the get stuck in matchmaking, and this long matchmaking should now be lessened. For those that are able to login, it may be a relief to see Dauntless matchmaking in progress for a shorter amount of time.

Certainly, the issues being encountered with the Dauntless servers on PS4 and Xbox One, coupled with long matchmaking in Dauntless, are not atypical for the launch of this sort of multiplayer game. Fortunately, it seems that the developer is committed to correcting the issues quickly, and hopefully players will see a reduction to the Dauntless 180 minute queues, and receive less indication that their matchmaking failed, in the near future.

Dauntless is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
