The original Dark Souls has plenty of unique characters that are well portrayed. That is the reason fans are still building memes, fan art, machinima, and cosplays for many of them. One of those characters is called Solaire of Astora. He is probably the most significant and most useful sidekick to players throughout the cataclysmic journey of Dark Souls.

His appearance and uncanny love for the sun is a symbol of rare passion, which has led many fans of the series to love his character. His quotes are on point and memorable, and his gestures would make anyone join the Warrior of Sunlight Covenant. Even in real life.

10 Praise The Sun

This cosplay is by Raimund and can be viewed on his Reddit in its full glory. The cosplay is done to perfection, with chain mail armor shining bright as it can. The symbol of the sun is fantastic, and the gesture is on point. The glare of sun coming through the trees and hitting the helmet makes it accurate to the vision of this character. Speaking of sun glare, how does Solaire stand wearing the bulky metal armor in direct sunlight? Wouldn't that leave third-degree burns?

9 An Adherent To The Lord Of Sunlight

Posted by LadyMoonshiner on her Deviantart page, this cosplay is a story on its own. As it showcases Solaire of Astora with Dark Sun Gwyndolin, two main characters in Dark Souls. The best part about it is the subtle storytelling element in this. Both Solaire and Gwyndolin are indirectly connected to the sun in the complicated world of Dark Souls. It is like two opposites standing together, trying to make sense of their own journeys and awaiting the sun to show them the path to their respective missions.

8 Seek My Very Own Sun!

This one is done by YugenCosplay and is available on his Deviantart page. The cosplay costume is unique and beautiful, as it is not the regular cloth and chain mail combination. Instead, it is an armored take on Solaire's entire design. The Sun symbol is engraved into the chest piece giving it a bolder look compared to the original design. This one looks much grittier, like an old version of an Iron Man suit, built to protect who so ever wears it. The engraving on the shoulder pads and bulky helmet just look a bit too cool.

7 Our Fates Appear To Be Intertwined

Video games fans are genuinely very creative, and this one is an example of that. Built by SonicOfTheHedge and his brother, this cosplay is incredibly impressive and produces some great ideas. This is basically Solaire in his usual appearance and Sir Issac, who is a Knight version of Issac Clarke from Dead Space.

First, seeing Issac in the medieval attire just takes the cake, the costume is built with detail and passion. Second, since both the games are astounding, this one is truly a wondrous crossover not easily found elsewhere.

6 Why Not Help One Another On This Lonely Journey?

Posted by IllyDragonfly on Deviantart.com, this is Dark Souls cosplay for the Sunbros. The player and Solaire have somehow escaped the world of Dark Souls and have arrived into a world with moving boxes and flying objects. They see a lot of new strangers in this world, some are probably travelers from a different realm, while others are carrying chained sacks on their shoulders. But even with that many strange anomalies, the only thing left to do is some jolly cooperation. Close thy eyes and praise the sun.

5 We Are Amidst Strange Beings, In A Strange Land

Another crossover between two different worlds, this one is posted by supersoftly on deviantart.com. The cosplay is unique and apt at the same time. Both the costumes looked on point and built with dedication—especially Solaire, with individual modifications that bring out the modern factor. On an emotional level, this one looks like how Solaire would want his family painting to be. This is jolly cooperation, and everything indeed looks jolly, until you notice the eyes of the sun.

4 The Flow Of Time Itself Is Convoluted

The most striking part about this one is the minimalism and symbolism, especially in the image. It is captured and designed by megamo, and cosplayer is serawkward. The whole concept of considering the sun as a god isn't new, especially in Hindu and some other mythologies. That is the reason why it fits so perfectly in a mythical world of Dark Souls as it signifies hope and passion for something much greater than the timeline of human life. This cosplay perfectly captures what Solaire feels about the sun.

3 But I Am A Warrior Of The Sun!

The sun symbol maybe the central part of every Solaire cosplay, and the same goes for this one. It is posted by kanyiko on the Deviantart and looks like a very detailed costume worn to perfection. The belts add to the whole design, and posture speaks volumes of praise for the sun.

The chain mail looks light yet realistic, and the soft shoulder pads look quite similar to Solaire from the game. The helmet also looks pretty much identical. This one is genuinely a show-stealing costume.

2 I Will Stay Behind, To Gaze At The Sun

This is SquallLeonhart69 cosplay at Megacon 2015, and it is pretty much one of the best Solaire poses done on the list. This is a very bulky costume, especially the helmet. Visually it looks clean, simple, and minimal. The helmet appears to be bulky and handmade, and it gives this costume the most rugged-looking appeal. If the shin-pads and shield were built with a similar look, it could have been dominating apparel for Solaire. But even without them, it looks really cool.

1 If Only I Could Be So Grossly Incandescent!

Galactic-Reptile has one of the best Solaire cosplays on the DeviantArt page. The quality is top-notch when it comes to photography, and since most of the pictures are retouched with beautiful filters, they feel like a scene from a Dark Souls movie. The sword and costume aren't plain, and marks and scratches are visible that portray a battle-worn look. The helmet is rusted and dented as well. When all of this is combined with the right pose and lighting, it truly feels like a cinematic piece.
