The small group known as the Curved Greatswords are the bridge between regular Curved Swords and the impressively deadly Ultra Greatswords. They possess the hyper armor expected of the largest weapons in Dark Souls 3, though are lighter and faster than their Ultra Greatsword cousins.

They can also unleash great amounts of poise damage onto foes for a great way to stagger them into submission. Their combination of speed and power makes them popular in PvP as well as in PvE. Sadly, there are only five of these wickedly bent blades with which to annihilate adversaries, though each excels in slightly different playstyles.

5 Carthus Curved Greatsword

player fighting a lothric knight.

As the name would imply, the Carthus Curved Greatsword can be found in the Catacombs of Carthus. It has a chance to be dropped from the skeletal enemies that wield them and in the player's hands, it can be similarly dangerous. If one chooses to use this as their main weapon for a playthrough, it is recommended to infuse it with a Sharp Gem, as at +10 it gets an insane S-tier in Dexterity scaling in addition to 225 physical attack.

Its innate bleed effect is also a nice boon to this blade that only adds to its success as a weapon. The Spin Slash weapon skill, which is fairly common on this class of weapon, benefits greatly from this innate bleed effect and can easily stagger or stun most enemies.

4 Murakumo

Dropped by the invader Alva, Seeker of the Spurned after they are defeated at Irithyll of the Boreal Valley, the Murakumo functions very similarly to the Carthus Curved Greatsword, though without the innate bleed effect.

Players should give this a Sharp infusion when upgrading it to +10, as it will also gain a remarkable S-tier scaling with Dexterity that boosts its high 244 physical attack.

3 Exile Greatsword

As a guaranteed drop from one of the Exile Watchdogs on the Road of Sacrifices, the Exile Greatsword is pretty easy to come by in every playthrough, making it a great option for those seeking a Curved Greatsword early on. As it favors Strength and Dexterity equally, players should follow the Refined infusion upgrade path.

When maxed out at +10, it gets a solid B-tier scaling in both physically-oriented stats that nicely complements its 266 physical attack. It also possesses the Spin Slash weapon skill in which it can take huge chunks out of foes from a satisfying distance. This is understandably a favorite in PvP.

2 Old Wolf Curved Sword

This blade with a wicked back-edge is a rank 1 covenant reward from the Watchdogs of Farron and is the member of this weapon class with the lowest damage output, however, its unique weapon skill gives it a niche usage some players may enjoy.

This skill, Wolf Leap, lets players unleash attacks while jumping around evasively, making them very hard to hit. It also lets them enter and exit damaging range in an unpredictable manner, much like how a wolf would strike.

1 Harald Curved Greatsword

Most famous for cutting down unsuspecting players in The Ringed City DLC in the giant hands of the Harald Legion Knights, this is also the general area where it can be found. The Harald Curved Greatsword can be looted from a corpse in the poison swamp just past some Poisonhorn Bugs at The Dreg Heap.

It functions much like the Exile Greatsword, though it has a unique weapon skill called Sever. This chopping maneuver allows the player to slam this huge blade down onto foes with both hands gripping either end of the weapon, which can be followed up with successive inputs for deadly chain attacks.
