Linking the First Flame seems to be the last of people’s priorities in Dark Souls 3, and instead, it’s who can create the most diabolical and overpowered build. Dark Souls 3 has many ways for players to experiment, with an abundance of weapons, rings, spells, and stats. Players have been able to create the most overpowered builds in Dark Souls 3 over the years.

Players have been creating overpowered builds for years, with some utilizing the very best that Dark Souls 3 has to offer. With some of these OP builds in Dark Souls 3, the player will make short work of bosses, enemies, and PvP invaders, and feel like a boss themselves.

The Havel

havel knight from dark souls 3

Equipment Load is the biggest burden of a Dark Souls 3 player that wants to wear the biggest and most protective armor, while still wielding the heaviest weapons and rolling effectively. With a weight ratio of 29.9% or less, players will have 13 iframes, which means they will roll the fastest, and be immune during this time. Having a high equip load can be done in many ways.

Players should level up Vitality, increasing the base maximal load by 1.0 per level. Equipping Havel’s Ring, the Ring of Favor, and the Prisoner’s Chain will also help the player reach the Havel end goal. Afterward, players can come for their great prize after defeating the Havel Knight in Archdragon Peak and returning to the Old Wolf of Farron bonfire where the Stray Demon rests. Here, their armor will be bolstered to a great defense, with the highest fire resistance in the game.

Pyromancer Hex

An even amount of points dedicated to Intelligence and Faith will make the powers of Pyromancy and Hex a truly managed mixture of powerful chaos. Most enemies in the game are weak to fire damage, which is why the damage from pyromancy spells will be useful. To those that aren’t weak to fire, that’s exactly where hex spells come in, as both can be used with minimum effort, to become the best witch or wizard in Dark Souls 3.

Players should aim for 40 points in both Intelligence and Faith. They should also not forget the importance of Attunement and Endurance. These stats combined with spells like Chaos Storm and Black Flame will overload the player into a champion of combat, with a decent amount of range to avoid swinging swords.

Sellsword Twinblades

Dark Souls 3 Sellsword Twinblades

A weapon that brings fear into the hearts and minds of many Dark Souls 3 players is the Sellsword Twinblades. This weapon is the starting equipment for the Mercenary class, or it can be found in the Road of Sacrifices, behind the Black Knight in the destroyed keep. The high DPS of this weapon makes it a boss killer, and an overpowered weapon in Dark Souls 3 when paired with Dexterity stats.

Players should give the Sellsword Twinblades the Sharp gem, and reinforce it with Titinate as far as it will go. Afterward, players should spend most of their points on Dexterity, to scale the weapon efficiently, and melt the health bar of any enemy that comes in the path of the chosen Ashen One.

Pure Faith

Dark Souls 3 player using lightning miracle

Some players in Dark Souls 3 just don’t know when to quit their stats. Faith is an overpowered thing to level up, and when placing the maximum of 99 points into Faith, the grounds below will hear the thunder and see the lightning of the player casting such powerful magic. Faith-based spells like Great Heal and Sunlight Spear will increase in efficiency if the Faith stat is pushed past its base stats.

Using lightning spears and other Faith-based spells will melt boss health, far past the ending to Dark Souls 3, and beyond into the many and endless NG Pluses. A Pure Faith build may require a commitment to its design, but it’s worth it in the long run.

Carthus Rogue Bleed

armor of thorns

Applying bleed can affect any enemy, and once the meter is full, it will deal a ridiculously powerful amount of damage, stealing health from foes, whether that is a boss or a PvP invader. To start this build, players will want to focus their points on Luck. They will also want a Hollow gem to infuse their chosen weapon with, as this will give them plus 5 in Luck each, but only after players have a 15 stat in their Hollowing, which is done by receiving the Dark Sigil from the NPC Yoel of Londor.

With Hollowing, players are all set, and now just need to purchase Carthus Rogue materials for their build. This will add to the bleed application of their weapon, and ensure that enemies hit with the chosen weapon will have a burst of bleed applied with just a few hits, destroying their health before they can even register that it is gone.

Master Sorcerer

youtuber ChaseTheBro's pure intelligence build in pvp.

There is an abundance of spells and sorceries in Dark Souls 3. Some are hard to obtain, and others are unlocked right out of the gate. In typical Dark Souls 3 fashion, some sorceries are locked behind questlines, that if forgotten, are missable until the next playthrough. The advantage of a Sorcery build comes from the extremely high damage of some spells, and the fact that they have a great range, meaning players can fire off spells from a safe distance.

Some of these sorceries are mix-and-match, meaning players can find whatever sorcery they like to have fun with the most. Magic is a great part of Dark Souls 3’s combat, and often scares away new players for its wide variety, but they are worth the investment in Attunement and Intelligence to become a powerful Dark Souls 3 sorcerer.

Dark Souls 3 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
