Daredevil: Born Again is the latest project affected by the WGA writers' strike. The Disney Plus series is a revival of Netflix's Daredevil, which was canceled in 2018 along with the other Netflix Marvel shows. Daredevil: Born Again will be 18 episodes and follows Matthew Murdock, a.k.a. Daredevil, played by Charlie Cox, who also appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk.

On May 2nd, The Writers Guild of America West and the Writers Guild of America East announced their members would refuse to work after the studios and the union could not agree on a new three-year agreement after the previous one expired. The production for Daredevil: Born Again was halted once before on May 8th due to picketing outside of the Silvercup East Studios in New York, where the production is taking place. Production was suspended for the rest of that week due to members of IATSE Locals 829 and 52 and members of Teamster Local 819 refusing to cross the picket line. Also, Matt Corman and Chris Ord, who write and produce the series, can not provide writing services on set due to the writers' strike.

According to Deadline, production for Daredevil: Born Again shut down again on June 12, as there was more picketing outside of Silvercup East. WGA strikers have been picketing that location frequently. The Disney Plus series has had to halt production twice in the first 3 months of its scheduled 8-month shoot. The production is currently shut down for the day, but the picketing may cause it to be longer.

The WGA has been on strike for nearly 6 weeks now, and it does not seem like they are letting any pressure off the studios until a deal is made. The 2008 writers' strike lasted 100 days, more than twice as long as the current strike. The current strike has affected the production of many different shows and movies, such as SNL, Stranger Things, Family Guy, The Community Movie, Tom Holland's Spider-Man 4, and more. The studios are doing fine right now and have plenty of content, so the WGA must keep picketing for a while before studios feel the pressure.

Along with Charlie Cox as Daredevil, the series will see Vincent D'Onofrio return as Kingpin, and Jon Bernthal reprises his role as The Punisher. Other officially announced cast members include Margarita Levieva, Sandrine Holt, Michael Gandolfini, Arty Froushan, and Nikki M. James.

Daredevil: Born Again is currently scheduled to be released on Disney Plus in early 2024.
