Daredevil is set to make a full comeback in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), with rumors saying that numerous upcoming projects will feature Charlie Cox as the crime fighting lawyer. While Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones was rumored to be in Daredevil: Born Again, recent developments may see her replaced by Jon Bernthal's The Punisher.

Matt Murdock, a.k.a Daredevil, made his MCU debut in a cameo role in Spider-Man: No Way Home. This not only was an exciting moment for long-time Marvel fans but also a moment that raised a lot of questions. One common question was if the Daredevil Netflix continuity was considered canon or not. Another question fans had was how many of the other Netflix heroes would be brought back following Daredevil's cameo.

Insider KC Walsh responded recently to a tweet that claims Alaqua Cox's Echo will in fact be coming back for an appearance in Daredevil: Born Again. Walsh's response read, "I know I was in denial about this but it sounds like another popular character will show up as well due to a scheduling conflict as it appears they will take the rumored role Jessica Jones had." Many were wondering who the "popular character" was, to which KC Walsh later responded with a GIF featuring Bernthal's The Punisher.

Many have been speculating about The Punisher's return, but if it really does happen, it won't be revealed until much closer to the Daredevil: Born Again's release. Ritter has previously expressed interest in playing Jessica Jones again, so as Walsh said, it's very likely that scheduling conflicts made it hard for her to reappear as the famous superhero turned investigator. After all, Ritter is playing the lead in the Orphan Black spin-off.

Punisher, Daredevil, and Jessica Jones are only three of the many other heroes Netflix brought to the small screen. No word on what's next for Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Elektra, Colleen Wing or even Misty Knight. Recently, Jessica Henwick turned down a role in Shang-Chi because she thought it would close the door to returning as Colleen Wing. However, Marvel Studios has not publicly announced plans for Wing for any of the other Netflix heroes besides Daredevil.

Maybe Marvel Studios has plans to bring back Daredevil's fellow Netflix heroes, or perhaps only a select few like Jessica Jones and The Punisher will return. Either way, fans are likely hoping for a clear answer soon.

Daredevil: Born Again is scheduled to be released on Disney Plus in spring 2022.
