Ever since Daredevil: Born Again was confirmed, there has been a lot of talk about how the upcoming Marvel Studios series on Disney Plus will be different from the Netflix series. Charlie Cox now decided to weigh in and share his thoughts on the upcoming show, how his character will be unlike what fans have seen before and hinted at a potential plot line for the Man Without Fear.

When Netflix's Daredevil was canceled, fans were disappointed to see one of their favorite heroes being cast aside. Daredevil was the most popular Marvel series on Netflix, and since its cancelation, fans petitioned for Cox's hero to be introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While their pleas were heard, Cox warns them to be prepared for a slightly different version of Matt Murdock and The Devil of Hell's Kitchen in Daredevil: Born Again.

Judging by the name, the series might work as a reincarnation of Daredevil, which Cox agreed with while speaking to NME. When talking about Daredevil: Born Again, the actor asked, “It has to be different, otherwise, why are we doing it?” Fans are used to seeing a broody version of Murdock, with the Netflix Daredevil series shrouded in dark and gory themes. However, in Cox's opinion, the Disney Plus series will be “dark, but it probably won’t be as gory.” While many fans want the series to pick up where the first one left off, Cox believes that tactic has already been done before. “Let’s take the things that really worked, but can we broaden? Can we appeal to a slightly younger audience without losing what we’ve learned about what works?” he questioned.

Fans have already seen a glimpse of the reformed Daredevil in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. According to Cox, the character was more “quick-witted and funny and charismatic and carefree at times,” something that audiences can agree with. It seems like this is the tone that Daredevil: Born Again will be taking, with Cox entirely on board to play the different version of Murdock.

When talking about the studio's decision to have 18 episodes for Daredevil: Born Again, Cox is “fascinated” because this is the most number of episodes a Marvel series on Disney Plus has had so far. “I’m imagining there’s going to be an element to it that is like the old-school procedural show. Not necessarily case-of-the-week, but something where we go really deep into Matt Murdock the lawyer and get to see what his life is like,” he said. In his opinion, it would be interesting to allow fans to get to know details about Murdock's “day-to-day life,” before letting him suit up.

Daredevil: Born Again is scheduled to premiere on Disney Plus in 2024.
