Fans of cartoons for grown-ups will be pleased to know that Dan Harmon, creator of Community and best known for Rick and Morty, is working on a new show. Fox Entertainment, which gave the world The Simpsons, is developing a new series.

Virtually nothing is known yet about the program except for its anticipated release date of spring 2022. Right now, speculation can only be done based on both Dan Harmon and Fox's previous works. Hopefully Harmon won't be too busy developing the rumored Community movie to make this happen.

Harmon is more of a writer than his co-creator of Rick and Morty, Justin Roiland, so don't expect the new show to have the same iconic art style Roiland employed for Rick and Morty or in his newer series Solar Opposites, nor his penchant for the absurdist. If Community is the standard set for his variety of comedy, Harmon's new show is likely to push the bounds of Fox's comfort zone regardless.

Bento Box Entertainment made Bob's Burgers and Paradise PD, which have an art style that will definitely fit with Dan Harmon's storytelling style. This is not its first foray into weirdness either-- the studio also did music videos for LSD and Coldplay which are definitely on the strange side.

The intersection between fans of The Simpsons, Bob's Burgers, and Rick and Morty fans is broad. The trifecta of creators all working together on one show is sure to attract a lot of attention from rabid fans as more details come to light. In the meantime, why not enjoy a bit of Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality?
