Back when it first launched, Cyberpunk 2077 was plagued with all sorts of technical issues that made the game borderline unplayable for a number of players. While CD Projekt Red has put in a massive amount of effort in order to improve Cyberpunk 2077, unfortunately, for some players, the game is still far from perfect. This was recently proven indubitably so by one such player.

Since its launch back in December last year, Cyberpunk 2077 has received a large amount of content updates as a way to offset the game's current buggy state. In fact, the most recent update 1.31 of Cyberpunk 2077 fixes several bugs that players have been experiencing for several months now. However, as one player recently experienced, the game is still rife with glitches that break the composition of the experience.

A Reddit user named The-Toasted-God recorded in-game footage of Cyberpunk 2077 with the newest update installed on PS4. After getting in a car, the user goes to back the car up and suddenly the car explodes and the frame rate slows down to a crawl. The PS4 version of Cyberpunk 2077 is considered the buggiest version of the game by many in the gaming community and it seems that this newest update didn't do much to rectify that.

In fairness, Cyberpunk 2077 is a rather ambitious game with a lot of moving parts, so odds are there are still plenty of bugs that managed to slip through the cracks, but the fact that the game is still performing poorly on last-gen consoles is rather disheartening. Obviously, both the PS5 and the Xbox Series X are more technologically capable and therefore, make the experience of playing easier, but there are still plenty of players that haven't transitioned to the newest generation.

It's been almost a year since Cyberpunk 2077 first released and while a number of things have been improved for the better, it still feels like the game is a long ways off from getting fixed on last-gen consoles. Then again, the ongoing lawsuits CD Projekt Red is facing as well as numerous financial issues that have cultivated as a result of Cyberpunk 2077 are likely holding ongoing development back a bit.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Cyberpunk 2077. While free Cyberpunk 2077 DLC is currently on the way, CD Projekt Red still has to contend with all of the technical issues that still greatly affect Cyberpunk 2077. With any luck, another big update will arrive at some point in the coming months that might help fix the current state of the game on last-gen systems.

Cyberpunk 2077 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
