For all the controversy that surrounds Cyberpunk 2077’s launch on base consoles, it’s still a very good open-world RPG with a great setting and good gunplay. One of the most satisfying weapons to use in the game is the variations of sniper rifles. They are incredibly satisfying to use and allow the protagonist V to take down his enemies in the most brutally efficient ways imaginable.

Thanks to the game’s cyberpunk science fiction setting, the weapons in the game are very imaginative. Add in special mods and abilities the developers at CD Projekt Red have come up with several ways to take down enemies at the end of a scope. Cyberpunk 2077 is a huge game that gives its players an exceptional choice of sniper rifles ranked from Iconic to Legendary. All of them have something different, but which is the best?

Updated November 8, 2021, by Michael Llewellyn: It's been almost a year since the release of Cyberpunk 2077 and they still haven't increased the list of available sniper rifles. This will hopefully change with the upcoming DLC and the eventual PS5/Xbox Series X/S upgrades due in 2022.

Until then players still have a strong choice of powerful sniper rifles to choose from. We have ranked the best but as with all games of this type how a player handles a weapon can be subjective. So we have included a stat table outlining their abilities, reload speed, etc, and included a list of mods to attach to the sniper rifle.

6 Breakthrough – Iconic

The Breakthrough is an Iconic Tech Weapon that fires armor-piercing bullets capable of breaking through concrete can also ricochet from certain surfaces. It’s the perfect weapon for players that enjoy fighting their enemies as guerilla-style tactics.

It’s a weapon that can be crafted if V has the Edgerunner Artisan Perk activated but the boss from the Suspected Organized Crime Activity in Rancho Coronado needs to be defeated and looted for the blueprints to create the Breakthrough.

Where to Get It

• A blueprint for the weapon can be looted from Olga Elizabeth Longmead during the Suspected Organized Crime Activity in Rancho Coronado.
• The blueprint allows crafting for the Epic (requires Grease Monkey) and Legendary (requires Edgerunner Artisan) tiers.

5 O’Five – Iconic

The O’Five sniper rifle is an Iconic tier weapon that costs 12,000 Eurodollars and can be obtained by participating in the Arroyo boxing match and defeating Buck in the Beat on the Brat side quest. Protagonist V will also have to beat the rest of his gang in unarmed combat.

Once Buck and his goons have been defeated, the O’Five can be collected from the Barrel that it's resting on. The O’Five is a modified version of the Grad sniper rifle and has enough power to take down an AV. This is thanks to the fact that it shoots explosive projectiles and its bullets can also ricochet off surfaces and has a short attack time. This explosive addition makes the O'Five one of the best Iconic Sniper Rifles in Cyberpunk.

Where To Get It

• You'll be able to grab this one from the "Beat on the Brat: Arroyo" side quest.
• A Legendary (requires Edgerunner Artisan) version can be crafted but requires the Epic version as material.

4 Overwatch – Iconic

The Overwatch sniper rifle is an Iconic tier weapon that is perfectly suited for players that like to take a stealthier approach. What makes this weapon special is that its Iconic perk adds the silencer but without any of the penalties to the gun’s power. It also has an increased Reload Speed.

The best thing about this particular sniper rifle is that it can be obtained without spending a single Eurodollar. It even has a slot available for it in V's apartment.

Where To Get It

• Panam will reward the player with one at the end of Riders on the Storm.
• An Iconic version can be obtained via the Star Ending.
• It can be crafted in Epic (requires Grease Monkey) and Legendary (requires Edgerunner Artisan) tiers.

3 Tsunami Nekomata – Legendary

The Tsunami Nekomata Tech sniper rifle is a Legendary tier weapon that can be found early on in the game’s story from the weapon seller at Northside in Watson. However, it’s very expensive and will set V back 200,000 Eurodollars which can take some time to earn.

The Nekomata is a very powerful weapon that can destroy enemies on the battlefield. However, the biggest downside to this weapon is the very slow fire rate and the need to charge each shot for it to reach its full potential.

Where To Get It

• The Nekomata can be purchased from Watson, Docks, Northside, or Lots of Guns (Lead & Steel). It costs a minimum of 694 Eurodollars.
• If you don't feel like buying it, you can loot it from the body of any of the Arasaka Snipers during the mission Gimme Danger.
• It's available to craft in Common, Uncommon, and Legendary (requires Edgerunner Artisan) tiers.

2 Techtronika SPT32 Grad – Legendary

The SPT32 Grad sniper rifle can be upgraded from a Rare to a Legendary tier making it a unique Power weapon that can be purchased from the weapons seller that can be found in Arroyo, Santo Domingo. It’s incredibly powerful and offers a Headshot Damage Multiplier of 4.6 making it one of the most powerful guns in Cyberpunk 2077.

In addition, the gun has four empty mod slots and comes with an HPO Mk.77 Kanone Max scope. It has 3x magnification for accuracy and has a fast and stable aim speed.

Where To Get It

• You can purchase it from the Manufactory in Arroyo.
• Those who don't want to buy it can get it for free from Dakota during the quest, "We Gotta Live Together."
• It can sometimes be looted from the body of a Scavenger found near the pool during the side quest, "Beat on the Brat: Pacifica."
• It can be crafted in Rare (requires True Craftsman) and Epic (requires Grease Monkey) tiers.

1 Tsunami Ashura – Legendary

The Ashura sniper rifle is a Legendary Smart weapon that packs a serious punch. Being a Smart weapon the Ashura’s self-guided micro-projectiles can home in on targets meaning that players can take down enemies from hiding spots and behind walls.

Like the SPT32 Grad, the Ashura can offer up to a 4.6 Headshot Multiplier Damage and a standard scope. It also has 4 empty mode slots so players can have additional scopes to improve on the basic one that comes with the gun.

Where To Get It

• You can purchase it from Ventura & Skyline, The 2nd Amendment, Heywood, and The Glen for 250,000 Eurodollars.
• You can grab this beastly rifle for free during the mission "Riders on the Storm". You can find it on a catwalk above the entrance to the main building while moving through the Wraith's Camp.
• It can be crafted in Epic (requires Grease Monkey) and Legendary (requires Edgerunner Artisan) tiers.

As good as the sniper rifles are in Cyberpunk 2077 attaching the right mods for the job is key and adaptable to the player's shooting style. Here is the list of mods that can be attached to a sniper rifle to make it more effective in combat.
