"Where is My Mind?" is an epilogue mission in Cyberpunk 2077, and it features one last choice. At this point, there is no more action to be had. This is purely a decision that changes the role-playing outcome, there is no other consequence to worry about.

Specifically, players must decide if they will sign a contract and have V's mind transferred into a chip or if they will refuse to sign and return to Earth. Before making this decision, some Cyberpunk 2077 fans may want to have a better understanding of these two options, and this guide looks to offer exactly that.

Updated on December 31st, 2021 by Hodey Johns: Decisions in Cyberpunk 2077 range from game-altering to nothing but flavor. Sometimes what appears to be a critical junction is actually just a time when players are given the illusion of choice. When playing in the epilogue, many gamers might mistake this choice for one of these. While there is no game left to play, the taste that Cyberpunk 2077 leaves the gamer will assuredly be altered by this dialogue option. The guide has been updated to spell out specifically what happens with either choice to allow players to decide which ending they'd rather observe.

Signing The Contract

Cyberpunk 2077 Accepting The Contract And Going In To Be Put Under

There are a lot of "ifs" hanging up in the air and none of them are resolved before the credits roll if players accept the contract. All that players get to see is that V goes under to be examined at a later date, hoping that the company can find a cure to the problem.

However, the big advantage of taking the contract is that players might get to live as one of the "ifs." There are some satisfying side quests in the game and this ending is hardly guaranteed, but there is some assurance that V could be cured. With this ending, V hops up on the surgical chair and hopes to be brought back someday.

Refusing The Contract

There are many ways to get off to a good start in Cyberpunk 2077 but no ways to get a clean-cut good ending. With so much uncertainty hanging over signing the contract, V's fate is death when refusing the contract, but it's a fate that players can feel some control over.

V will grab a bag and head back to earth with this ending. During the credits, characters give well wishes and establish that they're glad to see V for a bit longer, even with the inevitable cloud of doom. Sticking it to the corpos one last time is a fitting end to V's story.

Stipulations And Variations

Cyberpunk 2077 Going Back To Save Takemura

Notably, there is another variable that fans can control in this Cyberpunk 2077 quest, and it revolves around what character is present on the space station. That is, if a player saves Takemura during the Search and Destroy mission from earlier in the game, then he will be the one to present V with the contract. If they were not successful in keeping Takemura alive, though, then Anders Hellman will be the one to detail the document.

Furthermore, there is an achievement called The Devil waiting for those players that find Takemura in Where is My Mind?, while Hellman's presence grants nothing in particular. The requirement of saving Takemura makes missing The Devil trophy quite easy, and fans that want to Platinum the game may need to consider a second playthrough.

Cyberpunk 2077 was released on December 10th, 2020, and is available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and PC.
