Like many RPGs before it, Cyberpunk 2077 allows players to romance characters they meet throughout the game. Some of these romances are little more than one time events, while the main romances can change the entire story of Cyberpunk 2077. As such, some may need to know who they can romance and how to do so.
It's notable that Cyberpunk 2077's approach to romance is more advanced than older BioWare games, as it should be, but also not as complicated as something like Persona. Chances are, missing romance isn't going to just happen except in one key way: romances are locked by the voice and body type of Cyberpunk 2077's V. This is important for people who want to know whether they can romance Judy or not, so here's everything players need to know about romance in Night City. MINOR SPOILERS ahead.
Cyberpunk 2077 Romance: Judy Alvarez
Judy Can Only Be Romanced by V with a feminine voice and body type.
After the prologue in Cyberpunk 2077, players will be able to get in contact with Judy regarding the main story. It's an optional thing, however, and players who want to romance Judy Alvarez will need to make sure they call her. This eventually unlocks a series of side jobs for Judy, which are the key to romancing her. Players must be nice to Judy in general, and be sure to make a few key decisions during certain side jobs to make the romance more likely:
- Both Sides Now: Be nice and help Judy cope with the loss of a loved one.
- Ex-Factor: Kill Woodman
- Talking About a Revolution: Deny the payment
The key decision to focus on is Maiko's plan in the Cyberpunk 2077 quest Pisces. Players must refuse Maiko's plan, and allow Clouds to declare its independence. The final quest is called Pyramid Song, which sees players go diving with Judy and receive the option to romance her; afterward, Judy will ask a about the permanency of the relationship. If players choose to full commit, this can impact the game's ending.
Cyberpunk 2077 Romance: Panam Palmer
Panam Can Only Be Romanced by a V with a masculine body type.
During the main quest involving visiting Rogue in the Afterlife, players will be able to meet nomad Panam. She's important for the main story here, but players will also be able to romance Panam in Cyberpunk 2077 afterward. Being flirt is good advice; however, players should note that Panam was initially put off their advances. The biggest mistake players can make during this romance is dialogue that they're just helping Panam to get paid.
Much like Judy, completing Panam's side jobs in Cyberpunk 2077 lead to her romance, although completing certain choices during the main quest will also help seal the deal.
- Main Story Mission Ghost Town: Accept the Drink
- Main Story Mission Life After Wartime: Defend Her in front of Saul
- Side Mission Riders on the Storm: Ride with Panam, Side with her during the conversation with Paul. Also, later on, as kher to take off her shoes and touch her thigh.
- With a Little Help From My Friends - keep Panam's plan a secret, tell her she was missed, and touch her hand. Move closer to her at the fire.
- Queen of the Highway - tell Panam that the Basilisk is cozy. Listen to her remarks on impulses and let her touch V. Accept the Neural Synchronization.
Cyberpunk 2077 Romance: Kerry Eurodyne
Kerry can only be romanced by a V with a masculine voice and body type.
Kerry is met during a series of quests dealing with Johnny Silverhand, beginning with Rebel! Rebel! This leads to a string of side jobs involved Kerry, where players will want to do the following:
- Off the Leash: Flirt with Kerry
- Boat Drinks: Kiss Kerry
Much like Judy, after sealing the deal, players can choose to make this a meaningful relationship or a one-time thing.
Cyberpunk 2077 Romance: River Ward
River Ward can only be romanced by a V with a feminine body type.
Cyberpunk 2077's River Ward is met through a side job called I Fought the Law. Players will learn that he's a NCPD detective and will eventually come back with a series of side jobs for the player where romance is a possibility.
- The Hunt - Save Randy and express interest in River
- Following the River - Kiss him, twice.
Like other romances in Night City, River can be a one-time thing or a serious relationship depending on how players approach it. Depending on the ending, romancing River can also impact it.
Non-Core Cyberpunk 2077 Romances
The above characters may be the core romances of the game, but there are several less committal options as well. These doesn't really impact the end of the game or result in serious relationships. These options include the following:
- Meredith Stout - can only be a one-time thing for a masculine V where they meet Stout and use her corrupted shard to pay the gang. She'll call for a meet up at the No-Tell Motel.
- Joytoys - can be found around Night City, but particularly on Jig Jig Street. Either masculine or feminine Vs can get this scene after paying for the Joytoy's services.
- Rogue Amendiares - Allowing Johnny to occasionally take over V's body will set him up on a date with Rogue via the Tapeworm mission.
- A romance with Alt Cunningham can also happen as part of Johnny's story.
