The hype for Cyberpunk 2077 has been continuously growing since the game was first announced all the way back in May of 2012. That means that gamers have been patiently waiting for this release for almost a decade now. However, the light at the end of the tunnel is near.

10 It Releases On November 19, 2020

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release about five months from now on November 19, 2020. CD Projekt Red's original release date for the game was April 16th which means we would have been already enjoying this game for months at this point if everything went according to plan. The game was then delayed until September until a recent announcement pushed it further back to November. CD Projekt Red posted a lengthy explanation on Twitter assuring fans that they are making sure Cyberpunk 2077 "stays with us for years to come."

9 Multiplayer Will Not Be Available Until 2022

Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that is just teeming full of multiplayer potential. While the Cyberpunk 2077 that is set to be released in November of this year will be a completely single player experience, there are multiple reports that multiplayer will be coming in the coming years. According to newsweek.com, the multiplayer aspect of Cyberpunk 2077 will be a completely different entity than the single player campaign and is set to release around 2022. Being able to play in Night City with online friends in a multiplayer setting sounds awesome.

8 The Game Will Be Played Almost Completely In First-Person

Despite a few cutscenes throughout the story and driving segments, Cyberpunk 2077 will be played almost completely from the first-person view. Other RPG games, especially ones that let you customize your character, often let you switch between first and third person fluently during gameplay. This will not be the case for Cyberpunk 2077, as gamers will be locked into first person throughout most of the game. Choosing just one perspective will allow developers to polish the first-person aspect more which will lead to smoother gamplay.

7 Take Control Of V, The Fully Customizable Playable Protagonist

Cyberpunk 2077 will have gamers play through the eyes and mind of V, who is tasked with becoming a urban legend on the streets of Night City. Who V was and will become in the future is completely up to the players, as there will be different backstories to choose from as to where your V has been over the past years. Along with that, players will be able to customize the look and skills of their character to better fit their chosen play-style.

6 Cybernetic Enhancements Is A Common Theme And Will Be Important For Player Upgrades

The first teaser trailer that was revealed for Cyberpunk 2077 featured a girl with scythes coming out of her robotic arms, similar to the picture seen above. Many gamers will be very excited to know that these types of cybernetic enhancements will be a common theme throughout the player's journey in Night City.

A plethora of different cybernetic upgrades were available during a gameplay showcase back in 2018 that looked very interesting. Cyberpunk 2077's cybernetic upgrade's can include things such as unlocking new linguistics, better eye-sight, and much more.

5 Keanu Reeves Has The Most Dialogue In The Game (Besides Your Playable Character)

Gamers everywhere where ecstatic when it was revealed that Keanu Reeves would be a character in Cyberpunk 2077. In recent years, Keanu has been known mostly for his role as John Wick in the John Wick movie franchise but has also been apart of other great work.

Futuregamereleases.com reported that Keanu spent about 15 days with CD Projekt Red, recording voice lines for his Cyberpunk 2077 character, Johnny Silverhand. The only person with more voice-lines than Keanu in the game is V, so that should be cool having him play such a big role in the new game.

4 Takes Place In Night City Located In Northern California

One of the most exciting things about Cyberpunk 2077 is the sprawling city, that the game takes place in, called Night City. Night City is located in Northern California, more specially directly between Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Night City is a coastal metropolis with much to explore and a lot of lore available to discover about the city's deep past. Developers have spent so much time and effort making this Night City feel lived in, that it has become a character of its own.

3 There Will Be Around 75 Side-Quests

Night City is full of things to do and characters to speak with. Many of the conversations you will have with people on the streets will lead to side quests that V can choose to partake in. In an interview with OnMSFT, one of the lead developers said that there will be around 75 "street stories." These optional missions will be a fun way for players to explore more of the world and level up their character in between the large amount of main story missions.

2 There Will Be Six Different Districts To Explore Within Night City

Here is a rundown of each of the six different districts in Night City. The City Centre is home to government officials and skyscrapers, while the Watson district is full of narrow walkways with various different shops to enter. Westbrook district is a playground for the wealthy elite and home to Japantown. The Santo Domingo district is full of factories that supply the city with power and the Pacifica district is a gang ridden area that is the most dangerous district to enter in the game.

1 Free Upgrade To Next Gen For Both The PS5 And Xbox Series X

A November release means that Cyberpunk 2077 will be coming out just around a month before the next-gen consoles. CD Projekt Red has assured fans that anyone who buys the game for the current generation console, will get the game free for their respective new console if they choose to upgrade to next generation. This will be an exciting game to try out the new consoles, when both the PS5 and Xbox Series X release this holiday season which is very highly anticipated.
