To say that Cyberpunk 2077 has hit several roadblocks both before and after its release would be a massive understatement. Following its initial release, Cyberpunk 2077 was plagued with several technical issues and bugs that broke the composition of the experience for many who played the game. Though, despite this, Cyberpunk 2077 has been nominated for two awards at The Game Awards 2021.

While it's true that Cyberpunk 2077 still suffers from several game breaking glitches, that doesn't mean that the game is immediately exempt of positive qualities. Cyberpunk 2077 is populated by numerous memorable characters, dynamic weapons with different practicalities, and many would agree a wonderfully vibrant aesthetic. Included among the list of nominations, Cyberpunk 2077 got nominated for Best Role Playing and Best Score and Music. The latter nomination makes quite a bit of sense, given the music supervisors for Cyberpunk 2077 were Grammy nominated and many players cited the music as one of the best elements of the game. However, the nomination for Best Role Playing game might seem confusing to some members of the gaming community.

The onslaught of technical problems, with some that are still present throughout Cyberpunk 2077 in spite of update 1.3, have left a bad taste in many players mouths. Then again, the story and characters of Cyberpunk 2077 have managed to leave a lasting impact on players despite all of the glitches and bugs. Therefore, plenty of players will also see the nomination for Best Role Playing as justified.

In any case, it's impressive to see Cyberpunk 2077 still receiving award nominations while still possessing a significant number of bugs and glitches. To the point where a couple of months back, one player encountered a glitch that caused them to fall through the game's Night City map. Although, many fans of the game are concerned for the future of Cyberpunk 2077.

Following the news of the Cyberpunk 2077 next-gen updates and DLC being delayed until 2022, many fans are worried as to how CD Projekt Red will handle the production of the game in the months to come.
