Getting a legendary weapon in Cyberpunk 2077 can make a huge difference in how players experience the game, especially on higher difficulties. While one might expect these weapons to be locked behind difficult jobs or powerful enemies, sometimes they can be obtained rather easily. Getting the Mantis Blades is easy, and as it happens, the same holds true for getting the Monowire.

The Monowire is essentially a laser whip, and players can use it to deal bursts of heavy damage and even dismember their foes. Cyberpunk 2077 has its fair share of iconic weaponry, but cybernetic implants like this one take the cake in terms of style and efficiency.

This weapon can be obtained during a specific side job, but players don't even have to wait for that in order to get it. Surprisingly, this powerful Cyberpunk 2077 item is just sort of lying about, waiting to be looted, though without knowing where to look players aren't likely to find it very easily.

Cyberpunk 2077 how to get Monowire

The easiest way to get this is to complete Regina Jones' side job titled Shark in the Water. During this quest, she'll lead the player to a pharmacy that's guarded by some bad guys. Instead of going in right away, take a detour to the left around the side of the building and locate a garage door that can be opened. Inside here there's a chest that contains the Monowire. Of course, like other Cyberware, it must be installed at a Ripperdoc before players can equip and use it.

Alternatively, for those players that want to get the Monowire early or that have already completed this side job and aren't sure where to find the pharmacy, the players should head to Kabuki. The pharmacy in question is listed on the map as Roger Wang Pharmacy, and players can get close to it by warping to either the Charter St or Sutter St fast travel points. It's the only pharmacy in the Kabuki area, so it shouldn't be too hard to find. After arriving, follow the same instructions as above, going around the side of the building and finding the Monowire behind a garage door.

When equipped, the Monowire charges up power. After using it to deal damage to an enemy, it expends that power and takes time to charge again. Patient players can deal some heavy damage with this weapon if used properly, and its quick but devastating nature is terrifying in its own right.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, and later on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
