If MaxTac is on the scene, it’s probably time to run. Yet, for those Cyberpsychos in Cyberpunk 2077 that are too brave for their own good, they might find themselves with the best Cyberware thanks to MaxTac’s elite units harboring some of the strongest and most dangerous Cyberware in Night City. Players might not be able to join MaxTac in Cyberpunk 2077, but they can certainly become their biggest threat, and anyone capable of taking out MaxTac is a true Night City Legend worthy of a drink in the Afterlife.

Players need to call Mr. Hands at the start of this mission and pay him 15,000 Eurodollars to get access to his special Netrunner, Yoko. Once players venture through the quest and talk to Yoko, she will give V a business opportunity, in which all they need to do is text Mr. Hands the location of the MaxTac convoy, which can be done just before starting the assault. By sending the coordinates of the MaxTac convoy, Mr. Hands will thank V in a message chain as the day “V truly began to impress me.”

A few days after completing the Somewhat Damaged quest and reaching the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty ending, Mr. Hands will text V once again, offering a unique reward for sending him the desired coordinates. Players can head back to V's apartment at Megabuilding H10 in Little China, Watson, to find a crate on the floor just to the left of their wardrobe. Inside this crate, are the MaxTac Mantis Blades.

Kill Melissa Rory

melissa rory maxtac agent

Venture to the Junguji store located in the Downtown sub-district of the City Center. Whilst here, a Cyberpsycho will attack, and after players have held them off or defeated them, MaxTac will enter Junguji to investigate the crime scene. This is the Bullets side job in Cyberpunk 2077, and it will see players interact with MaxTac outside of combat, and even have a conversation with Melissa Rory, the MaxTac agent who specializes in Mantis Blades.

If players want to get their hands on the MaxTac Mantis Blades, then before they leave the shop and complete the Bullets side job, they are going to want to attack MaxTac. Although the fight might not be easy considering it’s MaxTac, and they’re trapped in a small store, players must kill Melissa Rory in order to get a variant of the MaxTac Mantis Blades from her body. This is a missable weapon, so be warned once both missions are complete.

Mantis Blades allow you to slice and dice your enemies with swift, deadly slashes. You can also leap at a target to deal massive damage. To do so, hold and release R2/RT/Left Mouse Button.

MaxTac Mantis Blades modifiers:

  • Deals Physical Damage.
  • 20% Bleeding Chance.
  • +3.1% Melee Damage.
  • +4.7 Health Regen From Defeating a Bleeding Enemy.

Reflexes Attuned

+0.5% Damage with this Cyberware per Attribute Point placed into Reflexes, with a maximum damage increase of 10% with 20 Reflexes Attributes. Reflexes is the best Attribute to use for those who want to invest in the Mantis Blades, as the right Perk Point tree specializes specifically in blades. Players can use this Perk tree to benefit their damage output, healing capabilities, and leap range with the Mantis Blades.

Players can also use the new and Phantom Libertyexclusive Relic Attribute Perk tree and invest into the Jailbreak Perk, which will allow players to dismember enemies and perform finishers with the Mantis Blades to charge their next Leap Attack, which will have a +30 meter longer reach and far greater damage outputs, which will also swipe other targets nearby. Paired with the great stats of the MaxTac Mantis Blades, V can unlock the true power of the Relic, and become a Cyberpsycho that even MaxTac will fear. However, despite the cool visual style of Melissa Rory’s MaxTac Blades, when players obtain them for their very own Cyberware, they will still look like the original MaxTac Blades, so there is no visual change.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is out now for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
