The Mantis Blades are a powerful piece of Cyberware in Cyberpunk 2077, giving players the ability to slice through their foes with ease. Fans can also use mods to fine-tune these blades further, making them even deadlier in certain situations. For example, if a Cyberpunk 2077 player finds themselves up against a barrage of drones, mechs, or robots, then altering the Mantis Blades so that they deal Electrical damage can be very useful, and this guide will detail exactly how that is done.

To put things simply, fans that want their Mantis Blades in Cyberpunk 2077 to do Electrical damage will need to obtain a Blade Electrical Damage mod. Such a mod can be found by trading with the Ripperdoc on the far west side of City Center, in Downtown, and this NPC will let the mod go for just 1,050 eddies. While this character should be fairly easy to locate using the in-game map, players that would like a visual reference can find one below.

Once a fan has purchased the Blade Electrical Damage mod, they should equip it to their Mantis Blades through the Cyberware menu. This is a very straightforward process, and Cyberpunk 2077 players should be ready to unleash their newly-found Electrical power upon Night City in no time. Again, robotic enemies are the best target to use these modified blades against, and their ability to rapidly apply Shock to foes can be very helpful during some of the game's more challenging sequences.

To note, the Blade Electrical Damage mod is not the only way to change the damage type of a pair of Mantis Blades, as there are Thermal and Chemical mods as well. As with the mod at the center of this guide, the Blade Chemical Damage mod comes from a Ripperdoc, and players should look to the one located in Japantown this time around. Things do get a bit trickier with the Blade Thermal Damage mod, though, as it apparently cannot be bought outright for any NPC.

That said, there is indication that a schematic for the Thermal mod can sometimes be purchased from the northern-most Ripperdoc. It is also possible to obtain it during Cyberpunk 2077's The Pickup mission, which comes quite early in the game. However, the area where players will find the Blade Thermal Damage mod in that mission will be closed off after the quest is completed, leaving some fans in need of another source.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions coming in 2021.
