When it comes to shopping at a ripperdoc in Cyberpunk 2077, there are a few things that should be priorities. Getting good Cyberware is important for certain builds, and getting the best cyberdeck possible is mandatory for hacking builds.

However, while these are the major pieces of a build in Cyberpunk 2077, the minor pieces cannot be neglected. Most often, these take the form of mods, which enhance weapons, Cyberware, and other equipment in various ways. One particular mod goes a long way to helping players get the drop on enemies, or stay unnoticed altogether. It's called the Arasaka Software, designed for the Sandevistan Cyberware, and this is what it does, where to get it, and why.

The Sandevistan

It's important to remember that the Arasaka Software is a mod, and is useless without the device it's intended for. That device is one of Cyberpunk 2077's many Sandevistan Operating System upgrades, which is a form of Cyberware. The most common is the Dynalar Sandevistan, but all of them do roughly the same thing. Much like the extremely useful Cyberware known as the Kerenzikov, the Sandevistan slows (or dilates) time for several seconds. During this time, damage and crit chance are both increased. This is often used to land high-damaging headshots with a bullet-time effect. The Arasaka Software adds an additional effect to the Sandevistan: while the time dilation is active, enemies take longer to notice V.

Acquiring the Arasaka Software

Head to City Center, then to the Downtown area. Look for a ripperdoc office located near the docks, at the Western part of Downtown. There's a big Doc Ryder sign outside the office. This ripperdoc has a legendary version of the Arasaka Software for sale, and compared to major legendary components, it's a steal at 600 Eddies. Players probably won't even have to use one of Cyberpunk 2077's infinite money tricks to get it. There is also a free, albeit non-legendary version, on the roof of the Arasaka Mansion in North Oak.

Utilizing the Arasaka Software

The Sandevistan Operating System already provides a significant advantage in the way it slows down time. The Arasaka Software makes that slowed time a potent tool for ambush, since enemies will not notice V quickly. Utilized properly, it can let players stroll into a room sporting full Johnny Silverhand gear and take down multiple enemies with headshots before anyone realizes something bad is happening.

On the flip side, it can be just as useful for a stealth build using melee weapons. Some of the best melee weapons in Cyberpunk 2077 work particularly well in slow-mo, with one called scalpel getting a bonus from the Sandevistan in particular. Players can approach a foe and inflict heavy bleeding this way, then retreat before being fully noticed.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions coming in 2021.
