Updated October 25th, 2023, by Christopher Norman Worcester: The 2.0 update has brought significant change to Cyberpunk 2077. The game's Cyberware system has essentially been rebuilt from the ground up, completely altering how players not only use these items, but how they are acquired as well. This update will bring players up to speed on how this affects items like the Legendary Ballistic Coprocessor, and will also add a video guide explaining all the new information.

Cyberpunk 2077 players can increase their character's power in a lot of different way. Leveling up abilities allows players to get new perks, and finding better weapons is always a solid way to deal more damage, but the game sets itself apart by letting players install cybernetic enhancements. The Ballistic Coprocessor is a powerful Hands Cyberware, and the legendary version is the best one there is.

Like many other pieces of Cyberware in Cyberpunk 2077, to get it players simply need to get enough money to buy it. That said, there is only one Ripperdoc in all of Night City that sells the Legendary version of this implant, so players looking for that will need to be sure to find the correct one.

Legendary Ballistic Coprocessor 2.0 Update

CP2077-BCP-2-0

Cyberpunk 2077's 2.0 update has fundamentally changed the way Cyberware works. While the Legendary Ballistic Coprocessor still exists within the game, the tier quality is tied to player level, especially when it comes to what is being sold at various Ripperdocs.

The Legendary Ballistic Coprocessor is now available at every Ripperdoc once V reaches level 40 and above. Street Cred is no longer tied to Cyberware in any way. One interesting new fact that players will be happy to hear, is that the 2.0 update allows V to have two pieces of Hand Cyberware, allowing for the simultaneous use of the Ballistic Coprocessor and the Smart Link. V will have to invest in the Ambidextrous perk in the Technical Ability tree.

Upgrading Cyberware in 2.0:

CP2077-BCP-Upgrade

Another way for V to acquire the Legendary Ballistic Coprocessor is to upgrade a lesser version. This new function of the crafting system has been added in 2.0. To upgrade Cyberware, V will have to visit any Ripperdoc on the map. V will notice a small, yellow arrow in the top right corner of the item icon when a piece of Cyberware is available to upgrade. Each tier has two stages, the base tier and the 'plus' stage. The final Legendary tier has two 'plus' stages.

The Ballistic Coprocessor increases the chance for Power weapons' shots to ricochet, and with each rarity increases the number of times that they can ricochet. Players using the Legendary Ballistic Coprocessor along with a Power Weapon can have shots ricochet two additional times before they finally stop.

Legendary Ballistic Coprocessor location

To get the Legendary Ballistic Coprocessor, players need to find the Ripperdoc called Instant Implants at Kabuki. There are three fast travel stations all near this Ripperdoc shop, so players can either fast travel to Allen St South, Kabuki Central, or Bellevue Overwalk. From here, open the map and head to the nearby Ripperdoc. Players that have yet to visit this shop may not see it on the map, and some say it showed up instead as a junk shop. Head in that direction anyway and it should show up.

Once inside, talk to the Ripperdoc, navigate to the trade menu and find the Legendary Ballistic Coprocessor under the Hands Cyberware section. Buying this will put players back a good amount of Eurodollars, as it costs a hefty 21,000 Eurodollars, but it's a powerful upgrade from the rare or epic variants. With that in mind, it may be worth spending some time farming money or using Cyberpunk 2077's duplication glitch to get rich quick. Once purchased, talk to the Ripperdoc again to have it installed, and then feel free to go test it out. Players should notice their Power weapons ricocheting more times than they used to, and more often as well.

For characters based on Power weapons, there's no better Hands Cyberware, so it's best to get this as soon as possible. The other options for Hands Cyberware tend to focus on Smart weapons instead, so players working on those types of builds should look for the legendary Smart Link instead, as this will cause Smart weapons bullets to home on enemies.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, Stadia, and Xbox One, and later on PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
