Players can uncover the clues to Songbird's fate in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty by uncovering her crashed Space Force One lifepod.

Among the characters of Cyberpunk 2077, a handful are so hilarious that their interactions with V, however brief, are memorable, funny, or shocking. Without them, CD Projekt Red's open-world RPG would almost certainly be a more boring affair.

7 Ozob Bozo

At first glance, Ozob Bozo's humor might seem to reach only as far as his unique nose, but questing with the character reveals a tendency for absurd violence that surpasses the relatively simple request he originally gives you.

A stop for takeout quickly becomes an explosive attack on the Tyger Claws, hilariously summarizing the character's penchant for unpredictable violence. His character profile details the pride he has in his live-grenade nose, and though it might not be for every V, its status as an unlockable reward means that even after the disturbing mission, players can channel a little bit of Bozo wherever they go.

6 S.C.S.M Brendan

brendan SCSM in cyberpunk 2077

Not quite a person, 'Brendan' is the name given to a talking vending machine located in Japantown, outside Megabuilding H8. Brendan is a trial machine, intended to assist in the distribution of snacks and streamline the purchasing process for hungry customers in Night City.

However, Brendan's advanced programming eventually developed into something of an alleyway therapist, as he is able to distribute advice and learn about people's lives as if he were sentient. Gamers who encounter Brendan can expect a wholesome journey of wisecracking jokes that is tragically cut short by his creator, Softsys, who worries about the low sales of the talkative machine.

5 Skippy The Gun

Skippy Smart Gun In Cyberpunk 2077

Another machine that does more than what's expected of it, Skippy is an iconic HJKE-11 Yukimura that tends to do as it likes. It can first be encountered on a corpse in Heywood (which possibly alludes to an outcome of Skippy's behavior) and stays with the player until they decide to return it to The Fixer Regina Jones.

Cyberpunk 2077: How To Get Pariah (Solomon Reed's Gun)

Players can get their hands on Solomon Reed's Iconic Smart Pistol, Pariah in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, but there's a catch.

Skippy, aside from cracking comments at V, will fire when it likes, misses shots, and appear as a cheery bullet hologram that occasionally converses with the player. Skippy's A.I. is removed if it is handed back to Regina Jones. As a result, it's best to take full advantage of the crazy living gun when the chance is available.

4 Garry The Prophet

garry the prophet in cyberpunk 2077

A bin-liner-wearing conspiracy theorist, Garry has a variety of wild conversations with V, ranging from his firm belief Nomads are Werewolves to the existence of aliens. He can be found during the quest The Prophet's Song in the midst of offending a group of Aldecaldos unless V steps in.

Interestingly, Garry's crazy claims have an unexpected ending, as streamer CohhCarnage's character is abducted by mysterious blue-eyed people. Whether they are the aliens Garry feared, or simply a group of corrupt corpos as Johnny seems to think, this character's hilarious presentation has something of a chilling conclusion.

3 Goro Takemura

The highly-trained bodyguard of the late Saburo Arasaka, Goro quickly becomes a close ally of V during the events of the game, assisting them throughout numerous missions. Goro's fierce loyalty towards Arasaka, as well as his deadly skills, hides the truly comedic nature of a man out of his depth in the ever-changing cyberware of Night City.

Memorably, Goro is unable to use the phone feature properly, and though he claims it's the unfamiliar interface, it's clear the expert warrior is something of a Boomer, and later messages on the phone seem to prove this. He sends unflattering selfies, unusually formal text messages, and hilarious requests that prove to the player he may be one of the deadliest characters, but also one of the most endearing.

2 Johnny Silverhand

johnny silverhand riding a rollercoaster

There's no bigger constant in Cyberpunk 2077 than the personality of a long-dead rocker boy. Johnny Silverhand might be the biggest pain in V's backside, but he's also one of the most consistent comedians, delivering dry humor and bitter jabs at some of the most inappropriate times.

A lot of tragic moments exist in Cyberpunk 2077. Unfortunately, these characters met sad and untimely ends.

Keanu Reeves definitely had fun throwing Johnny's vulgarity into nearly every encounter, and it works like a charm. The multitude of sharp quips helps to establish the defensiveness of the controversial character and make the few poignant moments of conversation between V and the rocker boy tender and authentic.

1 Jesse Johnson, The Flaming Crotch Man

jesse johnson the flaming crotch man

A Quest That Starts With An NPC holding his crotch is bound to attempt humor, but for Jesse Johnson, it's his pain that provides the comedy. No quest is as fast-paced, nor as hilarious, as the saga of Jesse and the defective implant he regretfully grafted into his lower regions.

V has the option of assisting Jesse as his implant becomes progressively worse, causing the poor man to spout endless dialogue that adds great comedy to a simple encounter mission. The cherry on the entire ordeal is a final message from Jesse that proves he really did learn nothing from the whole fiasco.
