Media Molecule co-founder Mark Healey says his goodbyes to the company he helped create with an uplifting message.

One such piece comes from the Reddit user ApeMonkeyBoy who has uploaded a video showing the painstaking work it has taken to create a model of V from Cyberpunk 2077. The minute-long video shows the extreme detail going into creating the work of art, from building the main body of the character to the small refinements such as the lighting on V’s collar and the Samurai Oni-mask artwork on the back of her jacket. According to ApeMonkeyBoy, the design was made using a combination of PSVR, PlayStation Move controllers, and the PS5 DualSense controller.

The responses to the video have been understandably complimentary, with folks being impressed with the level of detail produced on PlayStation 4 software, and comparing it to CD Projekt Red’s official artwork. The Cyberpunk 2077 piece joins a long list of artwork created in the game, including a tribute to The Last of Us TV show created in Dreams.

Much like Dreams, Cyberpunk 2077 is experiencing a boom in player numbers thanks to the release of the long-awaited Phantom Liberty expansion. The expansion takes V on a journey of espionage away from Night City and into the region of Dogtown where they must protect the president from nefarious forces. The crossover between two very different games is down to the dedication of fans wanting to showcase their love for both franchises in unique ways.

While Dreams is experiencing higher player numbers thanks to PlayStation Plus, Media Molecule recently suffered layoffs at the studio as work begins on the next project. The developers also confirmed that the work on Dreams is now complete and will not receive any further updates. While the news is no doubt disappointing, fans are still embracing everything that the powerful creation software has to offer, artwork such as ApeMonkeyBoy’s take on V will continue to be shared.
