Fans discover that Cyberpunk 2077 NPC Evelyn Parker has claws just like Marvel comic book character Wolverine. CD Projekt RED revealed the Cyberpunk 2077 character, who is a former actress, in posts on social media earlier this month.

When CD Projekt RED revealed Evelyn's design, some had thought that the character's gold fingertips were just a very cool cosmetic option. However, a Cyberpunk 2077 fan on Reddit discovered a description from the Cyberpunk 2020 tabletop game that may reveal what they really are. The description explains that "Rippers" are a cyberweapon that give the wearer powerful claws that can cut in all directions. While Cyberpunk 2077 does have a Cool stat, Evelyn's decision to wear gold nails is likely to keep her Rippers hidden, for the element of surprise and perhaps because the cyberweapons are seen as a black market technology.

It's unclear if player character V will be able to get a pair of Rippers of their own. In a new preview, CD Projekt RED confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will give players multiple cyberware slots, in which they can equip a variety of enhancements. There's one slot for hands and cyberware like Gorilla Hands, which makes V stronger, while the Mantis Blade can be equipped in the single arm cyberware slot and gives V two huge blades that protract from their forearms.

Rippers are black market tech meaning that players may have to do a little work in order to get them. Evelyn is a part of a Night City gang called The Mox, which is a group that protects the city's sex workers from danger. There's potential there for V to be rewarded with the Rippers, or information on how to get them, for helping The Mox and its mission or by keeping its members safe.

Players meet Evelyn early on in the game as she provides Dexter with information for the heist that V and Jackie do. Evelyn is also seen working with fellow Mox member Judy Alvarez in the Cyberpunk 2077 braindance gameplay, giving her another link to the protagonist.

If players can get Rippers, there are more than a few fans who are ready to customize them and deal some serious damage with the cyberweapon. Some have suggested that they could customize their character more, adding poison to the Rippers so that they can take down Cyberpunk 2077's enemies so much quicker.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release November 19th, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a PS5, Stadia, and Xbox Series X version planned for the future.
