Marcin Momot, global community director at CD Projekt Red, has denied the rumors about the possibility of a new Cyberpunk 2077 DLC. The feature in question is something a lot of fans wished for, however, it seems they won't be getting an official version of it in Cyberpunk 2077 anytime soon. When it comes to DLCs, CD Projekt Red is known to be quite generous. With The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt the developer introduced extra content with sizable updates and expansions, and it's done the same with Cyberpunk 2077 as well. Additional weapons, clothes, and cars have been included in the free updates among other enriching content, such as additional apartments for V to purchase and live in. There is, of course, the upcoming Phantom Liberty premium DLC as well, which is expected to release in 2023.RELATED: Cyberpunk 2077 Stealth Mod Takes Inspiration From Deus Ex and DishonoredSubway system DLC was mentioned in a Reddit post, claiming that one of the developers confirmed it as something CDPR will add in a future patch. However, Marcin Momot responded to this rumor on Twitter, categorically stating the devs are not planning to add a working subway to the game. It's worth pointing out a community mod does exist which adds a functioning metro system with 19 explorable stations to the game. The mod was originally uploaded at the end of 2021, it's still receiving updates, and plenty of players use it in their games. Much like what CDPR has done with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's next-gen update, gamers were hoping some community mods like the subway system might be worked into Cyberpunk 2077 at a later stage.

Miles Tost, level design acting lead at CDPR, also joined the conversation, explaining it took a lot of polishing and testing with The Witcher 3 to fully immerse those mods into the update. But fans seem to be divided on the question of a functioning metro system. There are a lot of gamers who think it would add to the immersion, while there are also plenty who already use the existing community mod and therefore find no need to add it officially to Cyberpunk 2077. A third group of fans simply point to the fast traveling system, saying that even if the subway was added to the game, players would likely use it a couple of times and then would go back to relying on fast travel anyway.

Perhaps it comes as a disappointment for some fans to know there won't be an official metro system added to Cyberpunk 2077. But for those gamers (if they play on PC), the possibility is always open to using the community mod.

Cyberpunk 2077 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
