CD Projekt Red explained that this is a precaution related to The Witcher 3 next-gen update and the likely increase in traffic that the company's servers will experience at the time. A timetable for when Cyberpunk 2077 cloud upload for autosaves would come back has not been given, but it's hard to imagine that the feature will be unavailable for any serious length of time.

Cyberpunk 2077 players can continue saving their game in other ways while they wait for cloud upload for autosaves to come back online. There are still many who play Cyberpunk 2077 regularly and may be taking advantage of that functionality, so they will be happy whenever it's restored. Others still may be discovering Cyberpunk 2077 for the first time, finally giving the game a shot because of the updates and success of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

Others still may be returning to Cyberpunk 2077 to prepare themselves for the DLC. Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is a paid expansion coming to the open world game next year. Not a lot has been revealed about the DLC so far, but it will let players explore new areas and meet new characters, including one that is played by celebrated actor Idris Elba.

Those that have yet to dive in to Cyberpunk 2077 for themselves may want to hold off until next year. Not only is Cyberpunk 2077 getting the Phantom Liberty DLC expansion, but the game will also apparently have a Game of the Year Edition at some point that will presumably collect the base game and the DLC. More specific details on that, including its potential price point, have not been revealed at the time of this writing.

Cyberpunk 2077 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
