Cyberpunk 2077 is a very different game after the release of update 2.0 and the Phantom Liberty expansion. Many of the game's systems and mechanics have been completely reworked for a more streamlined RPG experience.

Players returning to Night City for the first time since release may want to start a new character to avoid confusion. The skill tree and perks have been changed drastically to fit these gameplay changes. Players looking to spec into pistols and snipers should take advantage of the powerful new Deadeye perk. This guide will explain how to unlock and use Deadeye in Cyberpunk 2077.

How to Unlock Deadeye

Deadeye is in the Cool section of the new skill tree. The Cool attribute dictates the player's stealth abilities. Investing in this attribute will power up pistols, sniper rifles, and thrown weapons. Players looking to be stealthy assassins should quickly level up their Cool. Deadeye can be unlocked by reaching 15 Cool and unlocking the Focus perk on the left side of the tree. Invest three more points into the perk to unlock Deadeye proper.

How to Use Deadeye

Deadeye drastically increases Headshot and weak spot damage by 25% when V has over 85% stamina. The perk also completely reduces bullet spread and adds a new reticle when not aiming down the sight. This ability does not require any sort of activating and is instead used for the purpose of accurate hip firing. Snipers and Pistols can be powerful without even aiming. As long as V has enough stamina they can use this perk to quickly dispatch enemies with ease. Just line up the shot with the new reticle and fire to stop enemies in their tracks.

The other perks around Deadeye in the updated 2.0 tree can make it even more powerful. Combining Deadeye with other skills that increase stealth damage and headshot damage will make a strong stealth build. The Long Shot perk directly to the right of Deadeye lets weapons retain their damage regardless of distance from the enemy. The Nerves of Tungsten Steel perk gives Deadeye the added benefit of critical hits on top of headshot damage as well as increased damage the farther V is away from an enemy. Unlocking all these perks in unison can create the perfect stealth/sniper build for quickly clearing out enemies. Try them out and remember to fire from the hip for maximum damage.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
