As fans follow Night City mercenary V as they venture forth alongside terrorist rock star, Johnny Silverhand, one learns that weapons with thermal damage are power weapons that can be found through various missions in each act of Cyberpunk 2077, all across Night City. Burns by weapons of thermal damage strike enemies for a short period of time, and can be effective against opponents sensitive to thermal damage.

6 Ashura

The Ashura sniper rifle in Cyberpunk 2077

Ashura, the Smart Sniper rifle, does some hefty burn damage to enemies and can also be paired with the Smart Link cyberware update from ripperdocs. Using this Smart Rifle with such precise cyberware builds a stealthy weapon that automatically detects and targets enemies as soon as a clip is discharged.

The Ashura is one of a handful of weapons that utilizes all four types of damage. Yet, for thermal damage, this smart rifle doesn't waste any shots, especially when hip-firing. Thanks to the sniper's power, and players can almost always land a headshot against all foes. There are several tiers of this rifle available in the game, so finding it from vendors shouldn't be a problem as players explore Night City.

Knocking goons out with at least 20% burn, the gorilla arms mod added to the knuckles makes this an ideal brute force for a melee build in Cyberpunk 2077. This tool for fans who appreciate a gruesome hands-on fight can be found in the Aldecaldo Camp for purchase.

As a rare find in Cyberpunk 2077, the Thermal Damage mod can upgrade a player's existing Gorilla Arms with the Knuckles. The thermal mod works in players' favor against both humans and bots, allowing easier combat functions. Forcing open doors and clearing out paths is a nice bonus on top of the Thermal damage the arms provide. It can additionally apply a buff to V's body stat during Body checks.

4 Fenrir

Cyberpunk 2077 Fenrir In Equipment Menu

This iconic submachine gun may contain a high recoil but has a decent 13% burn chance with thermal damage. Notorious for being an efficient and blunt weapon, the Fenrir can reduce bullets spreading and has high impact bullet speed. In action, players can go full barbarian on harder-level enemies with the Fenrir by their side, something to keep handy when encountering cyberpsychos like Chase Coley.

The Fenrir is only acquired through a mission during Act One. When using thermal damage for the Fenrir, it doesn't require players to reload often, which helps with effortlessly wiping out a slew of up to 10 people. CD Projekt Red deserves massive praise for the extensive and brilliant world of Night City and all it entails. The Fenrir is one of many amazing and rare thermal weapons that can be found in a dark nook, particularly during the Sacrum Profanum side job in Northside.

3 Mantis Blades

A part of the powerful and deadly blade mods in this game, the Mantis Blades are a precise and swift tool to master. And with thermal damage, this cyberfare weapon gives players an upper hand against street-level foes and more cunning enemies alike. A strike is a strike with this tool. The burn level with mantis blades and thermal resistance is a top play to bookmark for combat. It's daunting and unsettling at first sight, yet it inflicts instant terror in combat.

These sleek swords can be found scattered at any of the ripperdocs across Night City. Mantis blades with more rarity aid in increased burn and make for an excellent backup weapon against a major enemy. In such a futuristic world, blades may seen as the lesser of two evils or, for some players, ineffective. Still, the four types of damage (physical, chemical, thermal, and electrical) allow mantis blades to showcase versatility with player movements. Movement in combat plays to one's favor, and with a mantis blade, it can make for one hell of a finishing move against a foe.

2 Lizzie

The Lizzie pistol can release multiple shots simultaneously with an increased burn and headshot multiplier. This chic pistol truly capitalizes on thermal and headshot damage. It also shoots an extra shot with every trigger pull. With a thermal damage mod, this pistol can transform into a quick, paralyzing weapon against any adversary.

This pistol is available first during the Automatic Love quest when players enter Lizzie's Bar. It's found nearby where Judy Alvarez keeps shop. Not to worry though, as those who missed it can get their hands on it in Dogtown as well if they own the Phantom Liberty DLC and have access to the black market vendor Herold Lowe.

1 The Errata Katana

This hidden, rare katana gem is stunning. The Errata Katana can light up any target on fire as the sword itself glows in neon maroon. Using the Errata Katana requires a character to be at a center level, and the thermal version of this exquisite sword lands a 30% burn chance against anyone that crosses the end of it.

Errata Katana works as a niche stealth weapon that blows critical damage. Neat slices, an eerie glow, and instant burn make this sword a fierce competitor with its rarity as a bonus. The Errata Katana can be found during the Disasterpiece mission. It can cut through foes swiftly and fashionably regardless of damage type and, overall, is just a flashy, impactful, and fun weapon to showcase.
