In Cyberpunk 2077, Body perks can be useful for almost every type of build, but they are particularly useful for melee and close-combat builds. Practically half of the Body skill tree only applies to melee Blunt Weapon attacks, which are required for these builds to be as powerful as they can be, but the other perks can be specced into for a variety of HP, weapon, and other bonuses.

Cyberpunk 2077: 5 Best Blades Perks, Ranked

Players who enjoy wielding blades in Cyberpunk 2077 should focus on snagging the following perks.

While the Finisher: Savage Sling and Quake perks might not apply to ranged gun-wielders, melee players won't find much use for Spontaneous Obliteration or Rip & Tear. Be sure to check each of the best Body perks in Cyberpunk 2077 listed below for details on which builds each perk works best with, as well as what to expect from the sub-perks each is tied to.

Updated November 10, 2023 by Erik Petrovich: This list of the best Cyberpunk 2077 Body Perks has been updated to reflect the many changes of the 2.0 update, including its nearly complete overhaul of the game's skill and perk system. To help players make the best choices, this guide to the best Body skills Cyberpunk 2077 players can get offers new recommendations consistent with these changes, and briefly explains the branching sub-perks associated with each parent perk (if applicable).

5 Adrenaline Rush

Temporary HP To Increase Survivability

cyberpunk-2077-adrenaline-rush
  • Attribute Requirement: Body lvl 15
  • Other Prerequisites: Fully upgraded Painkiller perk

Adrenaline Rush is a relatively high-level Body perk that gives V the ability to generate Adrenaline, which essentially functions as a temporary HP bar. Adrenaline Rush doesn't unlock until the third rank of the eponymous perk, while ranks 1 and 2 increase V's max Health and HP recovery.

When unlocked, the passive grants 30% Max HP as Adrenaline whenever a Health Item (or similar item, like Blood Pump) is consumed. This extra HP will be taken away before V's regular HP, giving players more time to fully recover. Adrenaline Rush is further enhanced by its three sub-perks.

Sub-Perks

  • Calm Mind: During Adrenaline Rush, Adrenaline decays +3 seconds later than normal
  • Juggernaut: During Adrenaline Rush, +20% Movement Speed and +10% Damage
  • Unstoppable Force: During Adrenaline Rush, V gains immunity to movement-slowing and non-damaging status effects like Knockdown and Blinding

4 Quake

Blunt Weapon-Only AoE Slam That Can Be Performed Mid-Air

Cyberpunk 2077 Best Perks 2.0 Update Quake
  • Attribute Requirement: Body lvl 15
  • Other Prerequisites: Fully upgraded Wrecking Ball perk

Not all skills in the Body tree will work for all builds, but a melee build that relies on Blunt weapons will find the Quake perk to be extremely powerful. At Level 1, Blunt weapons cost 15% less Stamina to use, while rank 2 increases Attack Speed for Blunt weapons by 20%. Rank 3 unlocks the Quake ability itself.

Cyberpunk 2077: How to Respec

Cyberpunk 2077 players can respec both Attributes and Perks with the release of the 2.0 update – here's how to reset skills and stats in CP2077.

When unlocked, players can press a new input (labelled in the Perks screen) to slam the ground. Accessible every ten seconds, enemies in this close-range AoE attack's range will be damaged, staggered, and potentially knocked down. Performing it in mid-air makes it so that V slams to the ground below them, and sub-perks even make its damage scale with the distance fallen.

Sub-Perks

  • Epicenter: When Quake is performed in mid-air, the area and damage of the attack are increased based on how far the player falls, and how fast they are falling
  • Aftershock: 30 Stamina recovery for each enemy hit by Quake
  • Ripple Effect: 15 HP recovery for each enemy hit by Quake

3 Finisher: Savage Sling

The Capstone Finisher To A Blunt Weapon Build

Cyberpunk 2077 Best Perks 2.0 Update Savage Sling Finisher
  • Attribute Requirement: Body lvl 20
  • Other Prerequisites: Fully upgraded Wrecking Ball and Quake perks

Finisher: Savage Sling isn't exactly a game-changing ability that fundamentally empowers V in combat. Like other finishers, this ability can only be used on enemies who are either low on health or susceptible to Finishers – in this case, stunned enemies are more susceptible, and can be targeted by the Savage Sling finisher at slightly higher HP brackets.

The finisher comes in two varieties, one that simply kills enemies where they stand, and one that activates if players hold down the finisher input. This second version sees V throw the enemy at a target location, instantly killing them and damaging enemies in their vicinity. The cherry on top is that performing a Savage Sling restores 20% of V's HP, making it much easier to stay in melee range without consuming every Health Item.

2 Spontaneous Obliteration

Chance To Instantly Kill Low-Health Enemies With Certain Guns

Cyberpunk 2077 Best Perks 2.0 Update Spontaneous Combustion
  • Attribute Requirement: Body lvl 15
  • Other Prerequisites: Fully upgraded Die! Die! Die! perk

The Spontaneous Obliteration perk is something like a ranged Finisher, in that it gives Light and Heavy Machine Guns and Shotguns builds a way to instantly kill enemies from afar. Ranks 1 and 2 reduce recoil when Stamina is low and increase damage against nearby enemies, while rank 3 unlocks the Obliterate passive.

Cyberpunk 2077: Best Intelligence Skills, Ranked

Increasing V's smarts might be the difference between life and death, especially when it involves the best Intelligence skills in Cyberpunk 2077.

When V shoots enemies who are at low health with Light or Heavy Machine Guns or Shotguns, there is a chance that they will be dismembered and be killed. The chance for this to occur increases as enemy HP goes down, up to a maximum 20% chance with every shot. To make the most of this skill, switch to a gun that fires faster when enemy health gets low for more frequent chances to trigger the dismemberment effect.

Sub-Perks

  • Close-Quarters Carnage: Close-range ranged attacks are more likely to Obliterate enemies
  • Skullcracker: Quick Melee Attacks gain damage as V's Stamina decreases, to a maximum of +200% extra damage with no Stamina
  • Dread: Ranged attacks ignore 15% of enemy Armor. Dismembering an enemy with a Ranged attack spreads this effect to nearby enemeis.
  • Rush of Blood: After Dismembering an enemy, V gains +20% reload speed. Lasts for eight seconds.

1 Rip & Tear

John Doomguy Makes His Way To Night City

Cyberpunk 2077 Best Perks 2.0 Update Rip And Tear
  • Attribute Requirement: Body lvl 20
  • Other Prerequisites: Fully upgraded Die! Die! Die! and Spontaneous Obliteration perks

The Rip and Tear perk is one that turns a close-quarters shotgun build into one of the game's most devastatingly dangerous. This max-level Body perk does two things: after firing a Shotgun, the next Quick Melee Attack deals twice its normal damage, and after performing a Quick Melee Attack, the next Shotgun shot deals twice its normal damage.

2016's DOOM opens with a voice telling the player to "rip and tear, until it is done," and much of the game's fast-paced action comes from close-quarters shotgun and melee combat. This perk really makes you feel like John Doomguy, letting V rip and tear their way through waves of enemies without half a thought to their own safety – just be sure to pick up some HP-boosting perks too, like Adrenaline Rush.
