Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that members of the gaming community have been waiting for since 2012 back when it was first announced. Though, it wasn't until E3 2018 when the game was finally shown off on a larger scale and ever since that trailer, many fans are looking forward to the release of Cyberpunk 2077. Of the many details surrounding the game, one particular entrant into the game's arsenal of weapons has many excited.

Of the many highly anticipated games releasing in the fall of 2020Cyberpunk 2077 is at the top of many people's lists. With a star-studded cast, intricate world and character designs, and plenty of additional immersive mechanics, this game has gotten many people excited. Though, a certain ridiculous shotgun has a lot of people talking.

The Cyberpunk 2077 developers have already shown off numerous weapons featured in the game, including one character's ability to weaponize her fingernails. Although, the senior gameplay designer, Pawel Kapala, has now showcased an eight barrel shotgun, which shoots projectiles that can track a different target. In Kapala's own words: "Killing an entire room was never simpler."

Obviously, this shotgun is absolutely absurd, but just based on the description alone, it sounds like it will be a lot of fun to use. Imagine the player walking into a room full of enemies and eliminating all of them with just one shot. That is certainly reaching Borderlands levels of absurdity, but will most definitely entertain any and all who play the game.

However, for many in the gaming community, especially those who thoroughly enjoy first-person shooters, aimbots are not a desirable trait found in most games by any means. In a competitive setting, the use of aimbots can lead to a tremendous disparity in skill. In fact, most competitive gamers harshly disapprove of the use of auto-aim mechanics in shooters, considering that more skill is derived from players manually aiming their weapons at targets rather than letting the game do it for them.

Having said all of this, it seems like it wasn't the developers' intention to make an unfair weapon, but rather one that was silly, absurd, and fun to use. Also, players always have the option to not use it entirely. Again, auto-aim is largely disallowed in competitive multiplayer and while Cyberpunk 2077 does have a multiplayer component, it's not competitive from the sound of it. It seems like the gameplay will function in a similar vein as Grand Theft Auto Online where everything is much more open-ended and varied in terms of gameplay.
