Nvidia has released the latest Game Ready driver that optimizes DLSS 3.5 for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty and Cyberpunk 2077 2.0. The game is the first to get Ray Reconstruction technology through DLSS 3.5 which promises an even better visual and performance boost than previous versions of the upscaling technology. DLSS 3.5 is supported by all RTX series cards, but AI-based Frame Generation is only available on RTX 40 series cards.
Cyberpunk 2077 was released in December 2020 to a less-than-ideal response. There were a lot of bugs and issues in the game, besides the multitude of complaints about the gameplay. Over the next several months, developer CD Projekt Red released a number of updates to not only fix the issues but also improve the visuals and performance, especially on last-generation consoles. Now, almost three years later, version 2.0 has been released, and a major expansion called Phantom Liberty is just around the corner.
The latest Game Ready driver version 537.42 is out now, and it brings optimizations for DLSS 3.5 in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty as well as Cyberpunk 2077 patch 2.0. The patch is live and adds support for the latest upscaling technology to the original game. Jakub Knapik, the VP of Art and Global Art Director at CD Projekt Red said that "thanks to DLSS 3.5’s smart technology, fueled by AI rendering power, you can experience Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty’s newest location Dogtown at its very best — with sharper images, more accurate lighting, and the highest frame rates possible."
DLSS 3.5 brings Ray Reconstruction tech that improves the clarity and quality of reflections, global illumination, and lighting. With AI-enabled Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction, Reflex, and Super Resolution enabled, Nvidia says players can get 4.9X better performance on average compared to native 4K rendering. This makes Cyberpunk 2077 the first game to get support for DLSS 3.5. Do note that DLSS 3.5 is supported by all RTX series cards, but AI-based Frame Generation is only available on RTX 40 series cards. However, Super Resolution, Ray Reconstruction, and Deep Learning Anti-aliasing will be available to all RTX GPUs.

Phantom Liberty is the upcoming expansion to Cyberpunk 2077 which will be available on September 26. Meanwhile, patch 2.0 is already out for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, and it brings a host of improvements to the base game. The most notable changes that this patch brings include a new police system, vehicle combat, several netrunning and combat enhancements, changes to traffic, NPCs, weapons, loot, crafting, vendors, and more. There are also various quest fixes, stability and performance improvements, and of course, support for DLSS 3.5.
CD Projekt Red recommends starting a new playthrough following the patch 2.0 update for the best experience, even though players can continue from their saved game as well. They also recommend uninstalling any pre-2.0 mods.
