Nendoroid figures based on Cuphead are now available for pre-order on Good Smile Company's online store. For the uninitiated, The Good Smile Company is a well-known company that specializes in producing action figures based on popular video game properties. It is most notable for making a variety of collectible figures and statues based on pop culture, with its Nendoroid line being one of the most popular. One of the next releases in the collectible figure line will be based on the two main playable characters of Cuphead.Cuphead's release back in 2017 immediately cemented itself as a modern classic among gamers. Between a charming 1930s rubber hose art style, a strenuous development cycle, and intense difficulty, the legacy of Cuphead has been widespread despite being only a little over five years old. This has resulted in collaborations with the game, such as a Netflix animated series, a set of costumes in both Super Smash Bros. and Fall Guys, and now a set of figures in the Nendoroid line. Fans looking to purchase them can do so now, as pre-orders have opened for them.These figures adhere to the Nendoroid's art style, being chibified versions of the characters from the source material. Both Cuphead and Mugman's appearances translate incredibly well to these figures, not changing too much to make them fit. These figures come with three faceplates: a smiling one, a determined one, and even an evil one based on Cuphead's ending. The figures will also come with a set of attack effects and pose parts, meaning that fans can create a variety of situations with them.
It should be noted that fans will need to purchase both of these Cuphead figures separately, as there is no option to bundle them together. These nendoroids are available to pre-order now on Good Smile Company's official website, and they will cost roughly $62 USD each. The expected ship date for these figures is August 23, 2023, though the date may change depending on the circumstances.
The prototypes of these figures were first revealed last year, with full-color photos of the figures being shown at the WonHobby Gallery 2022 Autumn Exhibition. This was revealed alongside other figures from Good Smile, such as a Fire Emblem Heroes Veronica statue along with Hades and Street Fighter-themed Nendoroids. Cuphead has also been quite active in 2022, releasing the Delicious Last Course DLC and physical editions for fans to purchase.
