A long-awaited update for Cult of the Lamb finally has a release date set for January 16, starting the game's year off in a big way. The adorably demonic roguelike is set to launch its Sins of the Flesh update next week, and it promises some exciting extra content to make Cult of the Lamb's cute approach to horror even more fun.

Cult of the Lamb's charm is found in how it flips horror imagery on its head by focusing on cuteness and humor over scares, which offers a one-of-a-kind experience. Players are tasked with taking on the role of a cult leader whose main goal is to indoctrinate as many new followers as possible in order to worship The One Who Waits. Cult of the Lamb's unique art style and fun focus on building mechanics puts an exciting spin on the roguelike genre, and it's proven to be an indie hit. Since its release back in 2022, Cult of the Lamb has remained a popular title that has won many players over with its visuals and concept, and next week there will be even more fun to jump into.

Cult of the Lamb Teases Crossover With Don’t Starve

Cult of the Lamb releases a mysterious teaser trailer that hints at an upcoming collaboration with survival video game Don’t Starve.

January 16 will be the official launch of Cult of the Lamb's Sins of the Flesh update, which some fans have been lovingly referring to as the "sex update." Although there isn't anything R-rated featured within the game, Sins of the Flesh does allow Followers to fall in love and mate. After doing the deed, Followers then care for the egg and raise the hatchling until it's time for them to pledge loyalty to the Cult.

Followers being able to mate isn't the only new feature Sins of the Flesh offers. The update revamps the game's progression system, allowing players to go more in depth with the sinful ways of the Cult. Rituals filled with gluttony, bigger buildings, and "wrathful doctrines" are just a few of the new features players can experience in order to grow the Cult. This update may not be as large as the Relics of the Old Faith DLC that was released back in April, but Sins of the Flesh still looks like it will add a fun new layer to the game's quest for debauchery.

Although the game is centered around building a sinful cult, Cult of the Lamb is surprisingly cozy, and getting to experience more content is an exciting way for the game to kick off the year. Thanks to the Sins of the Flesh update, players can now indoctrinate members on an even larger scale.
