Cult of the Lamb is not only about creating a strong cult, but also about crusades against heretics. Depending on the biome, or more precisely the door you enter, the enemies you face will be different. And over time, you will encounter enemies with annoying shields. To defeat them, you need to unlock the heavy attacks.

A heavy attack is an alternative weapon attack. It varies depending on the type of weapon and deals huge damage. However, this ability is not available to lambs from the very beginning, and players must unlock it as they progress.

How to Learn Heavy Attacks

To unlock heavy attacks in Cult of the Lamb, progress through the Crown skill tree in your Temple until you reach the Weapon Mastery upgrade. To do this, players just need to perform sermons every day with as many followers as possible.

Alternatively, you can use the Sacrifice of the Flesh ritual. In exchange for 75 bones and the life of one of your cultists, you will receive significantly more power and get an upgrade point.

After unlocking Tier 3 skills, invest in Weapon Mastery. After doing so, all weapons get heavy attacks in Cult of the Lamb.

How To Use Heavy Attacks

There is a cost for using heavy attacks. Every time you want to use the full power of the weapon in your hands, it will consume Fervor. Of course, heavy attacks don't require as much Fervor as curses do. However, if your Fervor bar is empty, you will not be able to use heavy attacks. And you don't want your Fervor to run out when you enter a room full of enemies with shields.

To perform a heavy attack, you need to use a special button, which differs depending on your device:

Keyboard: Shift

Why Aren't Heavy Attacks Working?

Sooner or later, the lmab will encounter a large heretic enemy. He will shoot arrows at you, and protect himself with a shield that cannot be broken by a normal attack. If you try to destroy his shield with a heavy attack, it will also have no effect.

This is not a bug, but a special enemy that the game does not warn about. To get rid of this annoying heretic, hit his own projectiles back at him to break his shield.
