Not all cults are going to be the same, and customization options are a big part of the appeal of Cult of the Lamb. Players can collect an array of follower forms, inspired by the fantastical lands they visit and the gruesome monsters they fight, give their cultists certain Traits, and perform Rituals with them in their temple.

There's also a variety of ways to build a unique and inspiring cult, and using Rituals to impress, entertain, and terrify followers is yet another way the game provides some creative tweaks. The Lamb gets one free Ritual when they first build their temple, with others to follow depending on the Doctrines they choose.

7 Feasting Ritual

An early Ritual that has the economical price of only 37 Bones, this is an easy way to both fill the followers' tummies and gain +30 Faith. When the Lamb is in the early stages of building their cult, before there's a Farm or Kitchen completed, followers can still have a Feast to raise their Devotion and Loyalty.

The Feasting Ritual is one of the first choices that the Lamb will have in the Sustenance chapter of their Doctrines. The other option here is the Ritual Fast, which allows followers to skip meals and not be hungry for three days. However, this costs more than twice as much, 75 Bones, and will deduct 30 from Faith instead of adding to it.

6 Brainwashing Ritual

It seems that with Cults they either do all of the drugs or none of them, and the Lamb faces a similar choice of Traits when they reach Sustenance Tier 4. Sozo teaches the Brainwashing Ritual no matter what choice they make, but the Trait they opt for in that Tier of Doctrines determines how the ritual affects their cult.

The Brainwashing Ritual keeps the follower's Faith at a steady rate for two days even if they're hungry and tired and the compound is a filthy mess, so it's perfect for when the Lamb is going on an extended Crusade. If the Lamb has chosen the Substances Encouraged Trait, this Ritual also adds +20 Faith. Take the Belief in Prohibition Trait and followers get a +10 buff to Devotion and work rate but have a much higher chance of falling ill.

5 Wedding

It's either a Wedding or the Fight Pit Ritual at this Tier, and some might argue there's little difference. The Fight Pit Ritual also gives a +20 bonus to Faith, but it costs 75 Bone and the winner's Loyalty will drop 60%.

On the other hand, everyone loves a Wedding. The Wedding Ritual is a nice way to gain an easy +30 Faith and only costs 37 Bone. The ultimate choice depends on what type of cult it is, and fear not, as the Lamb can marry as many cultists as they want.

4 Funeral

Being able to resurrect a follower sounds like a good idea, but it's more beneficial in the long term to have the Funeral Ritual. The Ritual of Resurrection is costly, at 150 Bones, and deducts 10 from the Faith of the flock.

It's better to have a Funeral, and for those interested in strategy, this Ritual ties in nicely with follower Traits like Belief in Sacrifice and Belief in the Afterlife. Other cultists can then worship at the grave and generate Devotion.

3 Glory Through Toil

As the name suggests, this gives the followers an extra boost to their work ethic. When the cult compound is still being built, with even basic necessities like beds and farm plots yet to be constructed, the Glory Through Toil Ritual allows the Lamb's followers to work for three days without the need for sleep.

The downside of this Ritual is that it becomes available at Tier 4, and by that time most cults have evolved beyond the need for it. However, it's still a nice way to get several big projects done simultaneously if there's Devotion to spend and upgrading that needs doing. The other option in this tier is the Holy Day Ritual, which gives cultists a day off from their work, but in the time that they do nothing, they'll gain a whopping +80 Faith.

2 The Glory Of Construction

Suppose the Lamb does opt to give their followers a Holy Day, how does all the construction work get done? The Glory of Construction Ritual is a neat way to solve that problem as long as a +20 loss of Faith and 75 Bone is an acceptable price.

The other choice at Tier 3 of Work And Worship is the Ritual of Enlightenment, and if the Lamb's cult is about making money, that could be a better choice. After the Lamb has unlocked all the Devotion buildings, they generate gold instead. In the present endgame, The Glory of Construction isn't as useful unless the Lamb decides on some major renovations.

1 Ritual Of The Ocean's Bounty

Once the Lamb reaches Tier III under Sustenance, they can choose between surf or turf. The Ritual of the Harvest matures all crops to harvest instantly, and the Ritual of the Ocean's Bounty gives the Lamb double their catch for three days and a better chance to find rare fish.

The Ritual of the Harvest might seem like a better idea at first, but later on, when the Lamb can upgrade their Farm and related buildings like Scarecrows and Windmills, it becomes less important. The Ritual of the Ocean's Bounty is a skill that can't be duplicated any other way, and it helps to finish certain quests.

Cult of the Lamb is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
