A big factor in Microsoft's recent Xbox Games Showcase was pushing the company's Game Pass service which some believe was the real winner of the show. Yet, it seems that Game Pass' growth isn't just great for Microsoft, but indie developers too.

According developer Radical Fish Games, CrossCode has been a big success on the service after it was added to Game Pass earlier this month. Developer Felix Klein spoke about the CrossCode's performance on Game Pass via the Duel Screens podcast and praised the system.

Speaking on CrossCode's success on Xbox Games Pass, Felix noted that while the game hasn't had a stellar player count on PC, the Xbox One version has hit it big. Felix noted that the current player count on Xbox One is higher than both the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch versions combined.

While Game Pass stole the show at the Xbox Games Showcase, a big reason for that was the reveal of games that will be coming to the service. Microsoft finally showed off Halo Infinite's gameplay for the first time and even announced a new Fable, both of which will launch on Games Pass alongside all the other games shown.

With Xbox Game Pass proving its value to both developers and players, it will likely drive Microsoft to push the service on both PC and the upcoming Xbox Series X. Despite early concerns that the system would discourage game purchases, other developers have praised Xbox Game Pass as being good for sales. So with CrossCode doing great numbers on the service, there is a good chance that will translate to higher sales for Radical Fish Games.

CrossCode is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.
