The achievements for Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion leaked shortly before today's launch, and indicate that trophy hunters will have plenty to chase down. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion is one of the final releases of 2022, ushering in a rather quiet few weeks for the industry until both January and February deliver even more major experiences.

Many Xbox fans had been hopeful for Final Fantasy 7 Remake to finally come to the console after PlayStation exclusivity concluded, allowing those on PC to enjoy a port of the beloved role-playing game. Although not exactly what many wished for, it was announced earlier this year during Final Fantasy 7's 25th Anniversary Celebration, that a Crisis Core remake was not only in development but arriving later this year for all consoles. Crisis Core was released for the PSP in 2007 to mark Final Fantasy 7's 10th anniversary, so it is fitting that a significantly updated version would be would feature as part of future celebrations.

Trophy site True Achievements received the list the other day and stated that it "certainly looks like a bit of a grind." With 51 achievements, many of which pertain to absolute completion for various elements, earning the Platinum or maximum Gamerscore will likely prove quite time-consuming. Just like with Final Fantasy 7 Remake's trophies, there are some that players can acquire within the opening few minutes, such as "won a battle for the first time" and "performed a limit break for the first time," both of which are integral to the gameplay. Others put the prior simplicity to shame, requiring every mission, shop, fan club, and more to be completed, unlocked, or joined.

15 achievements are secret on Xbox and most likely refer to story completion, made hidden in an attempt to minimize the risk of spoilers. Speedrunning does not seem to be a requirement for anyone seeking every achievement, but clearing the game "in Hard Mode" may prove a challenge. Given that several are awarded for actions during specific missions, players should expect to frequently replay content to tick each one off of the list. Missable achievements are every hunter's worst nightmare, so multiple saves and fastidious care should be employed just to be safe.

The file sizes for PlayStation 4 and 5 were revealed late last month to be approximately 40GB and 21GB respectively. More recently, a video has been released that further showcases the immense graphical updates made to Crisis Core for the transition from PSP to modern consoles, and highlights that several adjustments were implemented to better mesh with contemporary sensibilities.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion will release on December 13 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
