Many anime characters spring to mind when it comes to iconic heroes in shows and movies, due to the sheer number of excellent anime series around. These heroes feature varying personalities, ranging from the goody-two-shows shonen protagonist to the complex anti-heroes who might not be morally correct.

That being said, even anime heroes are suscept to behavior that can be slightly questionable. In fact, the characters that most people love definitely have a rather odd side to them that is overlooked due to the other strong facets of these characters. To further illustrate this point, here are some anime heroes who sometimes make people quite uncomfortable with their actions or behavior.

10 Naruto Uzumaki – Naruto

The titular protagonist of Naruto grew up into a fine man who saved the world from the brink of annihilation. However, during his years as a kid, there were times when he did exhibit perverted behavior.

While this lessened after he grew up, there were times when Naruto could show a rather questionable side of his personality. It's a good thing that this character trait went away after things got really serious in Naruto.

9 Yusuke Urameshi – Yu Yu Hakusho

Yusuke is another character who is beloved by the masses even after crossing the line with Keiko time and time again. It's extremely odd behavior from a hero who is pretty much a role model otherwise.

His strong zeal to win and the love he shares for his comrades make him a pretty engaging character indeed. It's a shame that Yu Yu Hakusho suffered such an abrupt ending since his character was really going places before that.

8 Zenitsu Agatsuma – Demon Slayer

Zenitsu has quickly transformed from one of the most annoying characters around to a powerful demon slayer who hates seeing people get hurt, especially women. There's a reason for this bias — Zenitsu is somewhat of a creep.

He gets obsessed with cute girls, and Nezuko is the greatest example of this. He absolutely adores Tanjiro's sister even though he's well-aware of the fact that she's a demon, which is pretty weird.

7 Minoru Mineta – My Hero Academia

Mineta from My Hero Academia

Mineta is an example of an anime character that everyone hates. Even calling him a hero would be a stretch since his power is so weak that it's surprising how he's managed to gain entry into U.A.'s best class.

The lecherous manner in which he hounds girls and drools over them gets really annoying really fast. He's a truly useless character that the show could've done without, with his writing being extremely lazy.

6 Yuno Gasai – Future Diary

Most people would disagree with the very idea of calling Yuno a hero. However, she does play a crucial role in the plot and saves Yukiteru several times, so she gets a pass here. She's one of the most iconic yandere characters in anime, with the psychotic manner in which she obsesses over her precious Yuki being a surprisingly engaging part of the show.

5 Master Roshi – Dragon Ball

For a person who has taught one of the most powerful warriors in the universe, it's honestly surprising to see just how much of a shameless pervert Master Roshi is. He's brazen when it comes to these lecherous antics.

These actions get even worse after Master Roshi is relegated to a side role due to his lack of power. While he gets his time to shine in Dragon Ball Super, his weird antics never let up for some reason.

4 Jiraiya – Naruto

Jiraiya is a character who wastes no time in showcasing his perverted nature from the get-go. In fact, Naruto himself gives him the iconic 'Pervy Sage' nickname, which is rich coming from such a depraved child like Naruto.

However, Jiraiya's perverted side hides a powerful and deeply caring ninja who is fiercely loyal to the people close to him. His death is easily one of the most emotional and saddening parts of Naruto.

3 Gintoki Sakata – Gintama

At a glance, Gintoki seems like nothing more than a lazy good-for-nothing who likes to obsess over cute girls. However, this hilarious exterior hides an amazing character with a brilliant conscience.

This iconic protagonist is the beating heart and soul of Gintama, which is a brilliant anime that everyone should watch at least once. Much like Gintoki, the show itself has some amazing arcs that most people won't expect, given the series' comedic nature.

2 Brock – Pokemon

The trio of Ash, Misty, and Brock are some of the iconic groups in anime, with Pokemon's early days being dominated by these three characters. Brock was a character who served as the comic relief of the group, although his antics crossed a line several times.

He never hid his creepy adoration for any good-looking female that he gazed upon. This became a running game with Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny, both of whom Brock tried to woo constantly but ultimately failed.

1 Vinsmoke Sanji – One Piece

Sanji Simsim Cream

Sanji is one of the coolest characters in One Piece, but he also has a pretty weird side to his character that he honestly could've done without. Thankfully, his perverted nature doesn't come to the forefront all that often.

Sanji's moments to shine in the series are pretty great, so most people don't really pay attention to his creepy side. Perhaps it's fair, but this free pass is something that Sanji and many other degenerate characters get in anime time and time again.
