Crash Team Rumble Season 2 will see the addition of a Spyro the Dragon character, a new co-op game mode, and much more. Crash Team Rumble launched earlier this year to mixed reviews. While there are those that have been greatly enjoying the multiplayer take on the Crash Bandicoot franchise, others remain unconvinced.

But since Crash Team Rumble is a live service game, it has the opportunity to bring in newcomers or convince lapsed players to give it another chance by adding new content. That's exactly what Crash Team Rumble will be aiming to do with Season 2. Crash Team Rumble Season 2 is kicking off today, but fans will have to wait until a bit later on to get their hands on some of the new content planned for this season.

Crash Team Rumble Season 2 introduces the 4-player co-op Party Mode, which tasks players with working together to complete mini-games. There are five different Party Mode mini-games available at launch: Speed Run, What's Cookin, Get Lit, Dig It, and Balloon Bounce. As far as the core Crash Team Rumble game modes, fans can look forward to new maps Waste Deep and Jazz Junction. Waste Deep is available with Season 2's launch, though Jazz Junction won't be coming until later in the season.

New maps and modes may be the biggest additions to Crash Team Rumble in Season 2, but fans also have a new character to look forward to down the line. In a surprise crossover with the Spyro the Dragon franchise, longtime Spyro villain Ripto is joining the Crash Team Rumble roster. A release date for Ripto is unavailable at the time of this writing, but he will fill Crash Team Rumble's Booster role whenever he is added to the game.

Of course, a new season of a live service game wouldn't be complete without a new Battle Pass to go through, and Crash Team Rumble has fans covered in that department as well. Anyone interested in buying the 100-tier Battle Pass can do so with 950 Crash Coins, with 1,000 Crash Coins available to collect from the Battle Pass itself. Those that own Crash Team Rumble's Deluxe Edition get the Season 2 Premium Battle Pass for free, so fans should keep that in mind before spending their precious Crash Coins.

It will be interesting to see if Crash Team Rumble's Season 2 update is enough to catch fans' attention. The inclusion of Ripto from the Spyro the Dragon franchise could turn some heads, and Party Mode's Crash Bash vibes could convince co-op minded gamers not interested in PvP to give the game a chance. Crash Team Rumble Season 2 is live now.

Crash Team Rumble is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
