Following last week's release of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy , both fans and critics alike have been singing the praises of Vicarious Visions' remastered rendition of the original titles in the platformer series, as the compendium has received plenty of positive reviews. As it so happens, the return of everyone's favorite cartoon marsupial has also inspired certain creators to try their hand at making real-life works related to the game, as one fan known as MakoMod recently modded a PlayStation 4 console to resemble Aku Aku's temple from the franchise.

As seen in the video embedded in the tweet below, the Spanish artist Mako Mod has painstakingly put together a gorgeous physical facsimile of the witch doctor floating and spinning atop a stone temple that uses a PS4 as its base. Not only is Aku Aku featured prominently at the top of the fan-made construction, but also Crash Bandicoot himself is depicted as being sucked into one of the warp portals from the games.

In addition to the PlayStation 4 console itself, MakoMod also took the liberty of altering the system's DualShock 4 controller to resemble the stone steps and structure in a highly detailed manner, as even the peripheral's touch pad has been updated with Aku Aku's mask opening like a nesting doll to show Crash Bandicoot's face, and then a skull. With this being the case, some might find the controller to be a bit unwieldy.

Interestingly enough, this isn't the first instance of MakoMod modifying a video game console to reflect the art and design style of a popular title. Just recently, the creator managed to make a beautiful The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Nintendo Switch that updated the exterior of the Big N's newest system to resemble an item that could very well be mistaken for an artifact one might find in the open world title.

All things considered, with MakoMod obviously having loads of talent when it comes to crafting video game-related artwork and paraphernalia, one can only hope that they continue to keep making more objects like the Crash Bandicoot PS4 mod in the future. Perhaps MakoMod will take inspiration from another property that came out of Naughty Dog's development studio by renovating a PlayStation 4 to look like one of the environments in The Last of Us: Part 2.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is available now for PlayStation 4.
