A new leak suggests Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time may be coming to the Nintendo Switch. After the launch of the game in October, dataminers have been digging through Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time and have discovered a reason to believe the title may soon be coming to Nintendo Switch.

Crash Bandicoot has gained a huge number of fans over several decades. Game developer Toys for Bob has found huge success in its modern rendition of the character in Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, which follows directly from 1998's Crash Bandicoot: Warped from Naughty Dog. Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time was greenlit by publisher Activision following the success of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, which sold over 10 million units.

The widely successful and acclaimed platformer may now be coming to the Nintendo Switch, a rumor circulating due to the finds of the dataminers working on Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time. Dataminers, as the name might suggest, dig through game source code, looking for any interesting clues or hints that the original developers might have left behind intentionally or unintentionally. The rumor originates from dataminers having discovered a Nintendo Switch profile within the Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time files.

Some have suggested that the find does not necessarily mean that the game will be coming to any of the Nintendo Switch consoles. While it is unusual, it's entirely possible that the snippets of data found could simply be leftover code from Unreal Engine 4. YouTuber Canadian Guy Eh also highlights a section of the code which reads "Copied from Falcon." A small detail, but it is difficult to ignore, as Falcon was the project name for Spyro Reignited Trilogy, a game also developed by Toys for Bob and ended up being ported to the Nintendo Switch. This could be an explanation for why a profile for the Nintendo Switch exists within a game that as of yet is not currently available and has not yet been announced for the Nintendo Switch.

Activision has already pondered about bringing Crash Bandicoot 4 to more consoles, however as it stands, none of the major parties involved out of Nintendo, Toys for Bob, nor Activision have made a comment on the leak. This would not the first time potential Nintendo Switch ports for games have leaked through dataminers, and fans of the series will still have reason to be excited.
