Coral Island is a farming and life sim that allows players to experience the farming life on a tropical island. This is a perfect game to grab for those that are fans of Stardew Valley,Animal Crossing, or Disney Dreamlight Valley. Like most farming games, players will need to work on developing their farm by growing crops, building farm buildings, and growing their relationships with the locals of the island. But unlike other familiar games, it can be overwhelming diving into Coral Island, as the residents list expands to over 50 characters to meet, and 25 characters that are open for romancing if players are interested.

Since the game is still in Early Access, there are not a lot of farm buildings that players can purchase. Thankfully, the Spring update is coming soon, and with it players will be able to purchase a few more animals, so building some farm buildings as quickly as possible to prepare for more content is crucial. These are the buildings players should prioritize when working on their farm.

The Coop

The Coop is the first building players should work towards in Coral Island as it is a great resource to have. To build the coop, players will need to 100 wood, 50 stone, 5 bronze bars, 10 fiber and 2000 coins. The first and only animal players can get right now are chickens, which is still a great way to earn some extra cash. Players can hold up to four animals with the initial build, which means players can fill the coop up with four chickens.

Players can either spend 300 on each chick, or 600 coins on a full-grown chicken. Chicks take five days to fully grow up, so for players starting out, getting chicks will help players spend the next few days preparing. Fully grown chickens will lay eggs, either small or large, which can be sold, made into recipes, or made into artisan products such as mayonnaise. A mayonnaise machine is fairly cheap to make, only needing 50 wood, 20 scrap and 2 bronze bars. For players that are wanting to make a decent profit from their chickens, crafting a mayonnaise machine for every chicken can help optimize profit, as mayonnaise sells for more than eggs.

In the next update coming out in March, players will be able to get ducks, which will cost 1000 coins. They will produce duck eggs, which can also be made into mayonnaise, which is a better profit than normal eggs. Players can also upgrade their coop size to a level two in order to hold up to 8 animals, but it will cost 20 hardwood, 50 stone, 10 fiber, and 4500 coins.

The Barn

Another important building for farmers after the coop is the barn. Unfortunately, the barn does cost a bit more to craft and upgrade. For only 200 wood, 100 stone, 5 bronze bars, 10 fiber and 3000 coins, players can have a barn that holds up to 4 animals at a time. This will allow players to have access to cows, which is the only animal as of right now that is available in the barn.

Cows are adorable and very useful animals to have on a farm, as they provide milk to players. This is helpful in earning a profit, making recipes, being turned into yogurt, and can potentially be used for one of the underwater sea creatures quest. Players can either purchase a calf for 1250, or a fully grown cow for 2500. Calf take 14 days to become an adult, which might be helpful for beginners if they want some time to adjust. For milk, players should note that they will need a milk pail in order to harvest, and can either be sold on its own or put in a yogurt machine to become an artisan product, which will sell more than just plain milk. Yogurt machines can be crafted with 25 scrap, 30 stone and 2 silver bars, and is an ideal item if players want to earn a decent profit.

For the Spring update, players will be able to house Sheep, so players should plan on upgrading their barn to a level 2 in order to hold up to 8 animals. Players will need 40 hardwood, 100 stone, 10 fiber, and 6500 coins. Sheep can provide players wool, but will need shears in order to harvest.

The Stable

For fans that are struggling with moving across the map, and might not have a lot of the shrines unlocked to quickly travel to locations, having a stable might be the best solution. This building houses one horse, which helps players race across town with ease.

It only needs 50 scrap, 200 stones, 5 silver bars, and 15000 coins. This is a great resource to have for players who are trying to get as much done as they can in one day without wanting to walk from one end to the next.

House Upgrade

Having the perfect home is crucial, especially after a long day on the farm. Not only does it provide comfort, but it's nice to be able to decorate a space to personalize everyone's unique personality. Thankfully, players can upgrade their house to add in some special features.

While it is a bit pricey, it provides a much-needed kitchen will allow players to cook special recipes to ensure they never pass out doing their daily activities, as well as prepare special meals as gifts for friends and loved ones. It also comes with improvements on both the interior and exterior. Costing 100 wood, 50 stone, 5 bronze bars, 5 silver bars and 5000 coins, players can upgrade their space.
